Harley's new Cross Bones springer
« on: January 22, 2008, 08:36:11 PM »

I just saw the new bike on the web site. It looks pretty cool from the pix. Motorcycle-usa.com has some pix and an article.

Thanks for posting that Tony.  I finally got to see your new Rocker down at the Easyriders Bike Show Sat.  It's different and interesting but not for me.  Lookin forward to seeing this one up close.

I know it's going to be hard for some to believe but I actually like this bike (style). :shocked2: I couldn't have this as my only bike, but would love to have something like this as a second bike. I love chrome, and love having it shiny, but it can be a PIA keeping it that way. There has been plenty of times that I've not ridden the bike locally because of chance or rain, or roads wet after rain. A bike like this wouldn't bother me to be concerned about whether it's going to rain, or the roads are still wet after a rain. It would be so nice to just wash a bike when it was dirty instead of detailing it each time I wash it as I am presently doing.

I think it's a pretty good, not great, job of going "retro".  I like the looks of it, but wish they would have used a full fender on the rear instead of that, I don't even know what they call that, rear fender.  Very minimalistic looking.  I'm looking for a commuter bike, as I don't want to ride the SEUC out on 95 every morning with all those crazies and then have to clean it every night after I'm back home.  This would be a great bike for commuting.
Cheers :2vrolijk_21:,

It would make a good bar bike, but Gary, pppplllleeeeeeeeeeeeeezzzz don't tell me you are serious about your ability to ride this and not clean it impeccably.

Having had plenty of black bikes (the only color for the CrossBones IMO) you'd be just as busy with this.  The only time saver is there's less of it than a SEEG.

You got that right Rog...can't picture Gary ever riding a "dirty" bike.  If they were ever to change the picture of "Mr. Clean" on their bottles, it would be a picture of Gary!!   :huepfenlol2:

I would wash it, but just wouldn't detail it like I do my :pumpkin: It would get washed, blown dry, and ridden. I don't really see the need for the wiping down of chrome (doesn't have that much) to get the water spots all off, etc. :nixweiss:

LOL, Gary!  I thought I'd approach the SERG the same way.  Used bike, not as much chrome as the SEEG, don't need to worry about keeping it clean all the time, just ride it.  Hahahahahaha!  That lasted about a week! ;D
