Hi-way pegs
« on: April 11, 2005, 04:28:41 PM »

Hope I'm not being a newbie PITA.  [smiley=confused.gif] With the lowers on the bike I'm scraching my head  [smiley=confused5.gif] about what hiway pegs to get. There is obviously little room to install and clearance of the lowers is needed. Your opinions with exact part # and pictures on the bike would be great.
Thanks.

Thanks WFP. I did a search on "pegs" and only got 4 post as a result and none from your link. I'm new to the forum arena and I need to hone my skills obviously.

I took my kuryaken pegs off my 2001 ultra and didnt spend much time trying to fit them on my '05 SEEG but it doesnt look like there is ample clearance with these pegs. If I get them on I will post pictures.

The Kuryakyn switchblades that I have on my '03 Ultra won't work on my SEEG.  I bought the Kury Akyn Tourtech mounts #4520 and the Airfoil footpegs from HD, As mentioned in the post referred to above.  I love this setup.  Much better than the switchblaces anyway.  They complement the stealth look very well.

Also, I saw HD mounts that looked curiously identical to the tourtech's the other day.  Looks like HD is private labelling the Kuryakyn mounts.  Didn't check the price, but I'm sure the logo on the box raises the price a bit.  Seems to a $100 to the Jagg oil coolers.

UFO, be sure to specify the timeframe you want the search for.  The default is only like 7 days.

Bad Ass, looks like you are using the billet mount HD 50957-02A with your set up?

You must have some really long legs to reach forward of the lowers too!

Actuall very comfortable with heels resting on heel pegs. But thinking of switching the mount around so I get an extra inch or so more. My legs still bent a bit. Am 6'2".

At 5-10 I'm thinking this may be a bit of a stretch for me. Does not look like the mount has any room to go back from where you have it. I really like the look of your setup though.

I'm also about 5'10 I used :
Kury Akyn Tourtech mounts #4520 and the Airfoil footpegs from HD # 50134-95. They work perfectly and have a great look as well. There are pics of them here, reply 3,4,5

Ok, maybe 2 5-10 guys can figure this out.  [smiley=beerchug.gif] Sounds like badass at 6-2 has knees bent, we need that figure. Let's say it's 2 " too close for him, that means it's still 2 " too far for us. I do notice that the mount could be turned so that the peg moves closer to the bike on an angle, 2" worth? Not sure, maybe if I  [smiley=drink.gif] another one it will get clearer [smiley=shocked2.gif].
