Fuel management, too many choices

This blurb is in reference to a 2005 SEEG, still stock, but parts are on the way.
Too many choices with this fuel stuff. I have been trying to decide what to do. I have read all the posts here, but after awhile it is just information overload.

Harley has two units, the SE Pro EFI Tuner and the SE Pro EFI Race Fueler.
Anybody here ever compare the two to each other?

Power Commander seems to have been around the longest and upstart Vance & Hines just came out with their own

My personal preference is for the Race Tuner because of the smaller increments that you are allowed to manage within the system.

250 versus 500.

Race Tuner = Good
Race Fueler = some bad results reported

Sounds like for your purposes that the PowerCommander is your Choice.
A lot of folks like the results with it and I do not feel that you would be making a mistake with it.

Your right!
So many different ways to go.
It's my understanding that the race fueler is basically the same as the Tech  DFO.

I have "TWO" (damnit) of these DFO's hanging in my garage. Can be had cheap!

For my purposes I chose the Power Commander.
I do agree that the Race Tuner  may have more capability but my SEEG  is VERY happy with the PC.

I purchased the Freedom Cycles set up that Freedom has spent many hours perfecting and I am very pleased!

And not to be negative,,, but when I talked to the Vance and Hines tech rep about their true dual exhaust system he clearly stated that they hadn't done any testing on the 103's and sucks to be me cause I owned a 103. Can you imagine how much that makes me want to call them back and ask about their fuel controller?  [smiley=thumbsdown.gif]

MIKE,
i have the pc usb, and can make changes every 250.

Yep; The latest version (3.0.9) of the PCIII usb software allows 250 rpm adjustments. What does the Race Tuner allow?

250 for RT and I just went to the PC site because I was positive of the 500 figure and did not find any notes (will look for this now) for that version. This is what they still show for features.

The pic you posted was of the PCIIIr version. The PCIII USB Version 3.0.9.0 has the 250 rpm setting. Here is the link to the download page:http://www.powercommander.com/suppsoft.shtml

Also with the race tuner you can change the A/F ratio in one cylinder and not the other. Not sure why you would want to but you can. You can also check and reset Diagnostic Trouble Codes. I'm not sure if you can do this or not with the Power Commander but the RT can change Idle speed, warm up fuel, Cranking fuel, and with the data record mode you can check all of these things while the bike is running.

One other thing to consider on the fuel/ignition system management choices.  Unless you're just really really skilled and/or really patient it's a decision that rationally shouldn't be made by any of us anyway.

If you're going to have the bike dyno tuned the first thing to do is the homework necessary to know you've found a GOOD dyno guy.  Otherwise you've gained nothing (at best) or having a crappy performing bike and pipes like Mrs We's (at worst).

After picking this voodoo and fuel magician ask him which one he wants to set up.  Since you're paying him to make it right you might as well use what he's best with  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] .

the pc also adjust the cylinder trim values, has an accelerator pump feature and does the start up stuff.
but it does not reset trouble codes.

bottomline is that are a few good options out there.
the race fueler is not one of them.

You can tune each cylinder invidually with the PC III USB. In the options section you can open two tables one for each cylinder. I have the PC III USB but have just purchased the RT (20% off sale made that easier). Seems like a better system to me.
