Glad I'm not the only one tha thought the back end of the 05s was a bit of a kludge.  It doesn't suck.  It's not super ugly or anything.  It's just not a designer's better effort.  

The whole thing is kind of awkward and the luggage rack that isn't a luggage rack is just useless.  If it looked really really cool I could accept useless.  But if it's going to be useless it needs to be much better than just average in appearance.

No flames Tony.  Not at all.  In fact I'm glad that someone does like it.  Just one of those different strokes for different folks" kind of things.   I actually don't actively dislike it.  Just very ambivalent  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Curious, have you found it to be useful in some way also?  Or do you just like the looks of it?

Ok, now that saddlebag cover thing in MFG's second picture is just butt ugly (to my tastes).  Looks like some post-modern industrial flat iron with a little chrome kind of thing that someone dreamed up after an extra trip to the bong.  It's just nasty.  Unless of course someone has one on their bike.  Then I'm sure it looks great  [smiley=7.gif]

I'm with you, I like the look of it. I don't run the tour pack unless I need the storage. It dresses up the tail a bit [smiley=laugh.gif]

Hey Spyglide - my "V" emblem was stolen off the '04. My dealer got two emblems for some strange reason and I bought both.  PJ

Hey DDL - I replaced the stolen one on the '04 and put the extra on the '05.  Sorry.  Spydglide:  No damage when they took it off.  At least s/he was a careful thief - probably didn't want to damage it!
