Just got off the phone with Hoist......told him that the Patriots won......He just got home from Cincinnati and is watching the game by TEVO.

He will probably cut the game off with 4 minutes left in the replay. HA HA

Damn I'm glad, I think the only people happier than New Yorkers are Don Shula and the only perfect season champions, Dolphins.

You know Mark, this is what galls me. As far as the game is concerned, the Giants outplayed, out hustled, out ran the Patriots so they deserve to be World Champions. But when the single season home run record was under assault (and broken) by Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa, the family of Roger Marris was a class act. When the lifetime homerun record was under assault (and broken) by Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron was a class act. The 72 Dophins are a totally classless bunch. When they ran the table and won they were the epidiemy of selflessness. In the 36 years since, they have become selfish self agrandizing classless assholes. Especially their coach. I'm not upset the Patriots lost even though I'm a lifelong fan. I believe that they play the games for a reason. And today showed that. The Patriots did not earn their perfect season. I'm actually happy for many of the Giants. Michael Strahan has had a Hall of Fame career, he deserves a storybook ending. Tom Coughlin is a hell of a coach and worked his ass off for this win. But in my world, you give it your all and if someone's better he wins. You don't root for someone else to fail because they might break your record or whatever. That is just plain base and mean and lowdown scumbag behavior. And that's what the 72 Dolphins have become. A bunch of cranky old men rooting for anyone who might match (perfect can't be beaten) their perfect season. Sorry to get on a rant, but the one thing that spoiled one of the best Superbowls in memory for me was the bullchit surrounding the Dolphins.

I was rooting for the Pats simply to end the Dolphins record for the reasons stated by Spiderman.  Here is a bit of trivia I read yesterday...   The winning percentage of the '72 Dolphins regular season opponents was .376.  They did not play ANY team during the regular season that made it to the playoffs.  There was also no wild card round in '72 either.  Only 4 teams from the AFC made the playoffs.

By far one of the most entertaining Super Bowls ever.  It was GREAT to see ELI come through .

It was also special because my son drove up from college just to watch the game with the old man.
First visit this year, all an all a very special night. TP rocked too.

The Giants defensive line was the difference in the game and was the MPV's of the game.  To play that well for 4 quarters was awesome.  It was hot in the stadium and it would have been easy for them to tire out in the 4th quarter but they didn't. 

At the end of the season/playoffs, the Giant's got hot and were playing good ball.  To beat Dallas and Green Bay on their home fields is also to be commended. 

As an outsider that had no stakes in the game, it was a good game to watch.

Maybe some year for the Browns, probably not my life time.

What the HELL was with the roof being closed in Phoenix!  They had a fly over that no one could see.  I think the folks that paid $1,000 a ticket need to be exposed to the elements, good or bad.  It's FOOTBALL people not a broadway show!
