Don, the guy on top got a pretty good chewin' before the backup took the bear out.

I think it was a release in Montana some years back as I recall.

Do you know if there's a standardized release protocol?  Shooter with a rifle at some spot with a clear shot in case the released animal turns around?  Or did the poor schmuck just have to rely on someone getting up his nerve before jumping out of the cab of the truck?

Not much protocol there, the guy that backed him up only had a 357 mag and if you ask me they were damned lucky not to have it be a lot worse.

That bear mighta put that 357 where the sun don't shine on those boys.
