It's really weird when I hear him it reminds me of basic at Parris Island and makes me stick my chest out. Never would I thought while going thru basic from June - Sept '75 that someday I would have good thoughts about my time there. Joining the Marine Corps fresh out of high school (actually joined my Junior year in the delayed enlistment program) was one of the best things I've ever done in my life.

Actually, the only unknown that has since been identified was the Vietnam War soldier.  Through DNA testing he was identified as 1st LT. Michael Blassie and his remains were removed from the Tomb.  The sarcophagus is actually the orginal unknown from World War I.  In front of the Sarcophagus are three inlaid marble headstones, the north one contains the remains of the World War II unknown and the south one the remains of the Korean Conflict unknown.  1st. Lt. Blassie remains were under the middle one.   I get tears everytime I visit the Tomb.

Thanks for the clarification.  I remember an identification but didn't know there were representative unknowns from several wars.  Even as a cocky 18 year old I was amazed at the solemness and pageantry.
