LIQUID GLASS
« on: February 07, 2008, 07:01:34 AM »

Hey guys. If you are looking for an alternative to other high end products try Liquid Glass. I've been using it for years. Was going to order some Glare but decided to keep using this instead. Put a coat on last night. Just awesome results as usual. This stuff isn't cheap either but IMO it's worth it.

My strong suggestion...do NOT use Liquid Glass on chrome, even though they "claim" it works wonders...NOT!!! It ruined a chrome headlight housing of mine...expensive mistake!  :o :'( :soapbox: :nixweiss:

Don't know...chrome was clean, it was a new can of Liquid Glass (my 1st one..and now my LAST EVER! >:(), I used Harley softcloths to apply and remove, and voila'...hairline, brush-like marrs in different directions all over the chrome I poilshed with this stuff. Granted, there are much worse things that can (and do) happen in life, and probably no one but me will ever notice, but still...$28  :ofor a can of so-called "miracle" stuff that ends up destroying the chrome finish...hmmm! "Liquid Glass" is in my "X-File" (ie - never again!). Take care, and ride safe!

They've been in business a long time and I'm sure it's a fine product..on painted or clear coated surfaces. I'm just letting everyone know my bad experience using this stuff on show chrome :'( I'm reminded every time the bike's out in the sun and I see the hairline marks. Will probably end up replacing the headlight nacelle it bugs me so much now :nervous: -doubt anyone else would notice...but I do. :o :(

I`ve used liquid glass for years also and have never had an issue. If you have show chrome(as in you had it chromed somewhere)use Haggerty`s metal polish.Only product my chromer uses and recommends. It will shine with that bluish tint that only good chrome has.Toby   And I also use Griots` products with there 3" and 6" rand. orbit for fantastic results.

Muffman

Bought this product on your advice and just tried it out on my SEUC.  Product went on and buffed off very easy and the paint surface is so slick its unreal!

Thanks for the tip.   For anyone looking for it they sell it on Amazon.com.

cheers

As I said previously, works ok on clearcoated paint, but not advisable on show chrome...good luck with that!

Haggerty seems to have several metal polishes.  Is the one you recommend the "Heavy Duty Metal Polish"?

Used Liquid Glass on my bike's paint and chrome. Put two coats on and I'm impressed. Creates a very slick finish.

I used Liquid Glass back in the 60's on my black 56 T-Bird. Never found anything better back then, never left swirl marks. Two coats per year then a cap full with each wash. I haven't seen it in 30+ years, guess I'll have to order some and see if it's as good as before.
