I am preparing to do a complete top end job due to a rear cylinder leak on my 110. I am in the parts acquisition mode right now and ordered the new base gaskets (o-rings) using the part number from the manual (10956). I received part number 11907 ?? Dealer says 10956 is obsolete. It is an orange o-ring of a silicone type composition. It also has a square cross section instead of a round one. Same goes for the dowel pins.
Since I have not yet disassembled mine I am not familiar with what is currently installed. Does the stock o-ring have a round or square cross section ??
Thanks,
JPB
The original stock base o ring has a round cross section. Same goes for the original stock dowel o rings - round cross section. I do not know if there is a revised square cross section seal ring released.
Not to complicate your thought process, but at the recommendation of Axtell and Wes Brown at Cycle Rama, when I rebuilt my 110, I used both the base and dowel o rings
and the Cometic steel base gasket, along with some Gasket Cinch. I also used Cometic head gaskets - used the Cometic torquing procedure, not the MOCO torque procedure. (I also used Axtell cylinders. The base mounting surface of the Axtell cylinders is the same as the base mounting surface of MOCO 110 cylinders.)
