Hopefully, no one thinks they've been riding so long or is so good that they don't need a course such as the beginner's or ERC.

A few years ago, I started back riding after a long period without a bike. My girl friends son decided he would like to ride also and bought a Harley. He had never ridden, and I advised him to go to the MSF beginners class, which allows you to get your motorcycle endorsement upon completion without a riding test at the DMV. I agreed to go with him thinking it would be kind of fun but not expecting to learn anything. I did have fun and I did learn from it.  I went on to attend the advanced course and again learned and had fun. I am going to schedule the advanced course again this spring, since its been awhile and also I have to have it every three years to keep getting the discount on my insurance. I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from a good advanced course, if for no other reason to help get rid of the bad habits we pick up.
