Ugly neck!!
« on: April 15, 2005, 03:12:49 PM »

Well, for a while I have be thinking of how to cover up the ugly part of the neck on my '03 FLHRSEI2 between the tank and triple trees? I found the solution!   [smiley=biggthumpup.gif] Kuryakyn makes a cool neck cover for the baggers that looks awesome. It even has chrome strips that continue down the frame. The right side cover has been enlarged enough to accommodate the in-line cruise control pull-off switch found on the idle cable of all

That sure does look GREAT  Gr8,
I recently installed one of those covers on my SEFB.
the down tube chrome goes really nice with the gold  [smiley=cool3.gif]
the  only  thing i see you can do is put a chrome zip tie in place of the one ya have there

Looks good GR8Escape.  I knew that had one about a year or so ago but mods had to be made to it to fit with no promises made that it would work.  I'll look forward to getting 1 for my ride.  Thanks!  [smiley=beerchug.gif]

Can-man,

Just the ticket to hide tie up my LED lead wires with along my front brake lines.  I knew they were out there but, didn't have a chance to look. Thanks for saving me the time.

noticed this weekend that my yellow does not come with the screaming eagle air filter system ? friend had 106 octane fuel so - we filled er up - what a difference - also noticed at the dealership sat while playing the HD DVD 2005 production video - the Yellow in teh video for introduction for this bike shows stingray gray & yellow lower fairings ????? WOAH - bike only has yellow lower fairings - what is the difference - when re-playing the DVD - the difference is the newer style lowers to the old style - but then the question arrises is why did the paint scheme change ???? just a thought. our GM really did not know - must have been HD's last minute change over [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Its at least interesting that The SEFB came with the new filter and backing plate.  Wonder why one and not the other?

Beware of getting the screamin' eagle fatboy breather assembly, it sticks out about an inch further than the air cleaner set up that came on our bikes and can rub your right knee. The whole set up is about $140. If you still want one PM me and I'll sell you mine for $100. By the way the little screamin' eagle insert that goes on that filter is VIN restricted, but the plain screamin eagle insert for it is not....Mike

It looks as if the increase in width is caused by the air cleaner cover.  I have the old SE  air Cleaner Kit on my RKC and the new one on the SEEG.  I run a nostalgic (EVO styled ) air cleaner cover on both bikes.  The air cleaner cover on the SEEG sticks out the same as on the RKC.  The nostalgic is a close fitting cover and I was surprised by mobe's remarks as I didn't notice the width difference as I ride both bikes regularly.

I did if fact try to order the SE fatboy air cleaner and insert.  As mobe said the insert is VIN restricted.  Because I couldn't get the insert I refused the cover.  Pissed the dealer off as I'm one of the few he lets order w/o pre-paying.  I may have lost that privilege.  They won't even try to get me a rear fender medallion off of an'04 SEEG, because it too is VIN restricted.  I ended up just getting a Road King Custom rear fender emblem($30.00 for a plastic emblem) until I can figure away to get the SEEG emblem.  Anyway, we are way off topic.
