CVO Dog/Cat Food
« on: February 17, 2008, 02:56:37 PM »

Back when my Greyhound was so sick, I started researching different dog foods.  I was AMAZED at what is put in some of the premium brands of food, like Iams, Eukanuba, etc...hooves, feathers, beaks, entrails, feet, etc.  All that stuff can be claimed as protein, or 100% "Chicken", even if they include feathers!!  Some of the cheaper dog foods in the grocery stores may actually be manufactured using dead/euthanized dogs and cats.  Most contain loads of preservatives, some of which are known carcinogens, and stress the kidneys, liver, pancreas, etc.

After much reading, I discovered Flint River Ranch, and have been feeding this to my new pups since I got them.  I have never had any of my dogs go after a dry kibble like they do this food.  Coats are healthy/shiny.  They offer several varieties/flavors for both dogs and cats...special formulas for those dogs who have hip/joint problems, biscuit/wafer treats, either plain or with the hip/joint product (same as humans take). All ingredients are human grade.  I am so impressed with the food, I decided to become a distributor, not to make money, but just to share this great product with my friends/family who love their pets and want the very best food for them so they might live a longer and healthier life.  I do not carry inventory, as it is drop shipped to your door from the manufacturer, with no shipping charges, and you may place a recurring order once you've tried it, so you don't have to worry about running to the pet store or Vet for food.  They offer a sample package if you want to just try it out and see which one your dog/cat prefers.

There are many distributors if you Google the product, and I don't really care which one you use, but if you'd like to order from my website, please go here, read about the products, and how healthy they are for your pets:  http://www.frrco.com/indexFlash.cfm?122587

The food costs a bit more, but you feed 25% less, as there are no fillers (corn is the most common filler, and NOT good for dogs), so poops will be smaller, and your dog/cat will never get bloated by swelling of the food in their stomach.

Again, I'm not promoting this for self interest, but just because I know many of you want the very best for your pets.  Check it out  :2vrolijk_21:

Did not see puppy food. Kathy feeds one of our cats their food.

Have been feeding Jade Purina Lamb and Rice formula. She did not like the Iams food.

It's horrible what they put in pet food. I use to be a private chef for a lady and she had me prepare the food for her two golden retrievers each week. So sad that they had to pass on. The female died at 12 yrs and the male at 15 yrs. The lady passed on at 93. I miss them all.

How wonderful of you to research this and share the results here. Best of luck to you in your pet food distribution.

Brian, the Puppy/Adult food can be fed throughout the dog's entire life.  The kibble is better for pups than the nuggets, as there is a mixture of sizes, and you can put a bit of warm water on it and mix...my pups love it, and because it has different sized pieces, it's easier for them to digest.  But, if you're happy with what you're feeding, I'm not suggesting change, but check out the ingredients to be sure a filler is not the first thing listed.

We've been feeding Flint River Ranch to our CVO Boxers for 10 years.  Sassy Girl, Drake, Annie Bea, and Springer grew up on FRR products.  For the most part, the Puppy/Adult can be fed for the better part of a dog's life, BUT it is a VERY rich food, and even though a dog is fed 25% less, it can really pack on the pounds quick, fast, and in a hurry.....particularly with large breeds like our CVO Boxers.  Renea and I have discovered a lifecycle plan to temper the weight gain.  Springer gets one cup of FRR Puppy/Adult mixed with one can of french cut green beans twice daily.  He's thick, but not chubby by any means.  Annie Bea is a senior citizen (9.5 years) and she gets one cup of FRR Senior Plus (contains Glucosamine and Chondroitin) mixed with one can of french cut green beans twice daily.  Annie Bea has always been a challenge when it comes to maintaining a healthy weight, but the Senior Plus helps, since it is a leaner food than the Puppy/Adult.  Sassy Girl, on the other hand, was one of those Boxers who just couldn't gain a pound for anything.....until we put her on Puppy/Adult mixed with FRR Dri-Water.  That fixed that problem.
Our Boxers love their FRR food.  All we have to do is say "EAT," and they start slobbering.  They look like they have shoe laces hanging out of their chops.  Renea and I are huge advocates of Flint River Ranch products.  We have 10 years of great experience with the stuff.  There is simply no finer food out there, and it is so convenient.  We're on their "auto-ship" program.  Each month 20 lbs of Puppy/Adult and 20 lbs of Senior Plus are delivered to our doorstep via the big brown truck...........along with all those bike parts I order.  Nothing could be more simple.  We also buy the FRR Jubilee Wafers as treats for when we're working on their obedience training.  The JWs are 2"X2" square cookies slathered with Glucosamine and Chondroitin, which is a huge benefit for large breeds prone to hip dysplasia and spondylosis.  Annie Bea is getting up there in years.  She moves slower than she used to, but the JWs and her food, coupled with alot of exercise keeps her limber.  I highly recommend this stuff and encourage all of my fellow CVO Pet Parents to look into FRR products.........if for nothing else, for the benefit of your pet(s).  They'll thank you many times over.
