Thanks for the help. Yes it is on the edge under the lid.  I think I will take it back once again to the dealer and get the thing replaced. If they fix it, I'll try the plastic door molding this sounds interesting.  I need to take some pictures so that everybody can see what it looks like.
Thanks again.

According to one dealership in SAT, YX HD will replace the leather tour pak one time under warranty (and if fact did replace it for a friend of mine).  Mine is also wearing fast and I would like to have HD option to replace the Leather with the new and larger King Tour Pak.  I like the Leather but it is smaller and is wearing.  I would be willing to pay a fair amount for a King Pak to repalce my leather on my 07CVO Ultra (red color).  Understand another issue is speaker etc etc.

The leather TP is in the HD parts catalog for $1,500.  If you sold yours on E-bay and kicked in the "fair amount" you're willing to pay you could get a custom painted king TP.  I've seen photos of at least two of the cherry jesters on this site that have that swap.  Personally, I like the look of the leather TP.  It screams "screamin eagle" from a great distance and helps set our bikes apart.  Think of the TP like a ladies purse, no matter how big it is, it's always full.

FYI..
I have an 06 and have had nothing but problems with the leather tour pack.  HD has replaced the trunk twice, and has replaced 3 latch assemblies.  One thing to look for if you start seeing wear is the hinge nuts which are kind of hidden under the hinge assembly.  They WILL loosen up.  Once loose, they cause a misalignment of the lid and trunk, and wear damage.  This is what happened to trunk #1.  The same fastening system for the trunk cause #2 failure, the threaded portion or the stud was pulled through the plastic trunk, causing another mis alignment and a hole in the trunk.

While I had no problem in getting replacement parts, I will call Harley about a piss poor design all around.  I have also had to replace 3 latch assemblies for broken springs.

Keep an eye on the security of your hinge hardware and you may eliminate some problems.

I never had a problem with my fiberglass trunk on my standard FLHT!

I've had the same problem of wearing the leather away on the top edge of the bottom portion of the tour pak. I also adjusted the latch, but I still had vibration moment rubbing the fragile leather. Sounds tacky, but I put 1/2" wide black electrical tape over the edge.  It is not noticable and has stopped additional wear for over a year now. If you don't stop the wear, then you could have some serious problems with the leather fit. Edge molding might work, but you may have some clearance problems and have to adjust the latch. Be carefull, the leather is thin and fragile along the edge. If you have to readjust the tape, do it slowly and watch not to tear more leather. Quite frankly, the leather tour pak is a poor design, but I do like the looks.
