Shrink Leather???
« on: February 20, 2008, 11:56:53 AM »

I bought my girlfriend a leather halter last year as a sorta surprise gift (thus, she was not with me at the time of purchase). Well, being a male, I got the wrong size!    Surprised? It's at least one size too big and too late to return or exchange.  It has lace-up sides, but they're pulled tight as they can go. Anybody have any ideas on how to shrink or mod it?

Put the vest in the closet (back in a dark spot) by summer she will grow into it. ;D

My 1st thought was anatomical enhancement too.  Anything you do to leather to cause it to shrink will also cause it to stiffen.  Halters are made of a thin enough leather that most any tailor can work with it.  They may not want to but they can.  Does it at least fit you?

When leather gets wet, sometimes it shrinks.

Have her take a shower in it maybe, while you inspect for shrinkages?

May not work, but sounds like a helluva good time.

I'm sure it was bought with the intent of not being on long any how!

Simple.....just buy her another one.  Take her with you this time, cuz she is going to need leather pants to go with the halter and you wouldn't want to buy them in the wrong size too. ;D

Marry her. It'll fit just fine inside a year.
