transmission top plate

Does anyone know the torque value & sequence for the 6 speed trans top plate? I can't find it in the manual anywhere.

TIA

Look in the front of the trans chapter, there's a torque value chart for the trans. For the 05 5 speed it's 84-132 in-lbs. Probably the same for yours too.

Only for bolts, I'd just go half the torque value alternating sides, and then again at full value, but that's just me!

That's the first place I looked, they're not there in the '08 manual. Oh well, looks like a trip to the shop's in order!

They're 1/4-20, so good an snug on arm tork-o-meter. Bounce around criss cross and back and forth. That's the mil-spec method.

Be very carefull at 120. The bolts can strip very easily. I would go closer to 95-105 in lbs in a cross pattern

I've been satisfied with 100 inch pound on all the 1/4-20, splitting the 82-132 on the side of caution.
