2007 HD full coverage with $250.00 deductible collision and roadside assistance is $224.00 per year.
1977 HD no collision, same coverage is $64.00 per yr.
2007 Suzuki same coverage as the 07 HD is $170.00 per yr.
This is with Progressive. It only includes $1,000.00 for accessory coverage. No mileage statement. I get a discount for being a homeowner and multi vehicle discount. This is the bikes only.  The cars and house are with travelers. No accidents and I am 58 years old. The age makes a bigger difference than I thought.

We are both 52 and in Ca. the price rises dramaticaly with increased annual milage (always asked),uninsured motorist, and accessory value. BTW how did you get our photo? (we look older than we are)

OK, just did two things.  I called progressive to bump my liability and under insured motorist coverage from $100k to $300k.  That bumped up my annual premium by $26.  Then I added my wife's Sportster to the same policy and it was only $92 more!  There was a multibike discount.  I thought, hey, this is looking better than I expected.  How much to add my 18 year old daughter as a driver on the Sportster...........  over $600 ADDITIONAL!  That more than doubles what we have now.  We have a $500 deductible.  I'll take my chances with her driving it on rare occasions.  She's covered either way but my future standing with this Co. may be jeopardized should anything unfortunate happen.  That's a chance I'm willing to take.

Geez, can't believe the insurance rates I'm reading here. We pay 1250.00 for a 6 month riding season policy. it doesn't have any mileage limits, and only slightly weighted by bike value. Add in the wife's Sportster at only 50.00 less and our short riding season is pricey. >:( >:(

I've come to the realization that I'm in the wrong business. Instead of trying to teach kids eye hand coordination a quarter at a time, I should be selling insurance. I just looked at my bill from U.S. Insurance Services, Inc. for the SEUC2 and '02 FXSTDI (Deuce) and they are charging me $ 1256 per year. They proceed to tell me that they will finance the principal and bring the monthly payments to $129.67. The fine print says that the Annual Percentage Rate will be:... get this...

31.69%

I think I need to find another line of work to earn that kind of rate!

In New Jersey my policy is by Rider Insurance.
100/300/50, guest passenger has the same limits, also includes PIP
Underinsured has the same limits.
Fire, theft, collision and comp is up 30K (fits right in for the 05)

Having full coverage also includes the "Rider Accessory Package"

"in addition to actual cash value .....will pay up to $8000 in the event of ..........
Sub limit of $3000 for custom paint .............coverage for ...... accessories, chrome parts and non standard equipment and customized paint.
$500 deductible.

Includes a 25% "preferred operator discount" (clean motor vehicle report)

$512 for 2008, has actually gone down in the last three years.
$567 ---> $539 ---> $512

No mileage limits or layup period.

Now New Jersey has the highest auto insurance rates in the country, so this is a bargain.

My car and truck (2002 and 2006) coverage is $3000 for the year - with a clean driving record (0 points)

Since AJ brought it up, Rider offers a 4 equal payment plan for, get this, 4 equal payments that equal the actual cost for the year. They add a $5 fee for each payment, and you have the option of using all 4 or whatever.

Trapper, I have HD Progressive also.  I'm looking at my "Outline of Coverage", here is the breakdown on my '07 SEUC, where is yours off the chart?

Coverage                                         Premium
Liability, $300k limit                             $108
Pedestrian injury, $50k                          $3
Un or underinsured motorist, $300k          $45
comprehensive, $500 deductable            $48
collision, $500 deductable                     $162
accessory, $1,000                              included
roadside assistance                              $8

I also get discounts from this total for having a security system on the bike, being a home owner and having another bike on the policy.

jgeorge, The cost for my bike alone .07 SECU  with progressive (existing)

Body Liability 50/100                                     $165
property liability 25 ea accident
uninsured mo                                                   none
Comp.   500 deductible                                   157.
Collision 500 deductible                                 346.
custom pts.  up to 1000.                                   inc
Total                                                              $668.
Listed at 2500 annual miles (required listing in Ca) and no points
This includes discounts for 2 other bikes
The FLHX is $285. yr, the XR is 51. yr/
I realize I need to up my coverage considerably but when I list our annual millage (list 9000, actual 13,000.) and add ons, the cheapest Ins. I can find is $2000. yr.. As stated in my original question, my worry about listing 2500. annual miles is what happens if there is an accident at 2 years and the ins. co. expects the bike to have 5000. mi., and actual is 26,000 mi., are they going to Deni the claim. I realize other states do not require you to list annual milage so this may not apply to you. I have not tried to add my house and autos on the policy to see if rates are reduced.

BTW. were there really another 101 jgeorge's?
