The MJZSBBPCIII
« on: February 24, 2008, 02:20:55 PM »

This past fall I knew some work on the red bike was upcoming.  At the time was also looking to limp along a bit.  In doing so I asked if anyone had made a swap from a Power Commander to something else and might have a good used piece to sell at something less than new cost.

Lo and behold one of our group had one and simply made it a freebie.  MJ had taken it off his bike.  Chip had thought he might have a place for it.  MJ gave it to him.

Chip ended up not putting it in to service.  Then I had need for something.  Chip gave it to me.  It just showed up in the mail.  No freight cost or anything.

The rework got done in the past few days and the bike got tuned with that Power Commander yesterday.  Just wanted to say thanks guys.  It's been very much appreciated and is being put to good use.

Either man could have quite rightly asked some fair price.  Instead they just passed it along to the next guy.  It's being put to good use now.  Just wanted to make sure you both were aware I appreciated the kindnesses.

When I thought that I was having a problem with my ECM, Pete 4854 brought his wrapped in a ziplock bag to Maggie Valley for me to use if it went bad.

You're right guys.  The people are; and they do.  Just didn't want that fact to be taken for granted.  It is still appreciated :drink: .

Chuck

Was reading your post and realized,
that Power commander has more miles on it than Cybil!
As far as the numbers, when you get above 120 on any Harley it's cause for celebration!
I know Don's got to be happy!

Hell, I am and I hadn't even heard it run!

It was down in the SEEG section in a thread we'd been discussing the bike getting buttoned up. Numbers came out at just over 125 hp and 119 tq.  Good tq was in plenty early though.  It's not quite done though as the clutch started giving up before John was done.

I really was Chuck.  Thanks.  It spins up quickly.  Sounds good.  It's supplying power early and enough to be a really fun ride again that will be great for the way I ride it.  It's the pass-a-truck-in-a-hurry or just-run-from-65-to-90-in-a-hurry-for-the-hell-of-it kind of quick acceleration.  What it should be is great to ride on the two lanes, excellent to pull the trailer with and a great bike in the mountains again.
