Had all receipts in a BIG drawer of my tool chest, drawer was overflowing so I put it all down on a spread sheet. That night I had a terrible nightmare about wifey finding and going through the receipts, got up and destroyed them. Sometime later I was updating the file and looked at the total spent, at that point I removed all the dollar amounts because I don't ever want to be reminded of that again.

I need to carify this. Mark I sent you every tech sheet for everything on Elvis but as I recall, had tossed the actual receipts - - - correct ? Since you can verify every one of those parts as being on the bike, I expect you could get full value if anything ever happened to Big E.

That is the reason for me keeping all the receipts/cost in case the new owner might want that info.

I was just speaking of the NANA that I told Kathy I would not need to spend a cent on since it had everything already on it from the factory.

Have an accurate listing of all additions or changes actually on the bike.  It's even kept updated if something is replaced (like one exhaust comes off to be replaced by Fatcats).  A file is kept of the receipts, but only those for which some warranty handling is a potential.

Numeric total though?  Nope.  Never going to happen.  Don't want to know.  Never even going to consider the option.  Wouldn't be prudent at this time.

I think they're laying around somewhere, but the last thing I'll ever do is look at them. Why would anyone ever want to know how much has been spent? I've got enough things to upset me without adding this to the list.

Gary, I can actually do a pretty good running tally in my head.  I'm certain the overall total of money spent on the red bike is about 1500 bucks.  That's it.  That's all.  That's what my mind believes.  Not bad for all I've tricked it out .
