Looking over the fatcat install the directions say to use a heavy duty grease between exhaust gasket & pipe to ensure a perfect seal. Does anyone do this & if so what kind of grease should i use. Is it necesary as well. Iam going to replace the exhaust gaskets with new ones...

I did not use grease on the head joint.  I installed my Fat Cats today.  The only leak I had upon firing up the bike was with the rear pipe - at the tapped hole for the O2 sensor.  Since I am using the PCIII, I have installed plugs in the O2 sensor holes.  That is where the leak was - I removed the plug, added some high temp silicone, then reinstalled the plug, which sealed the leak.  The pipes sealed to the heads with no problem.

For those of you who have installed the Fat cats on a SEUC3. Did you have an issue with the heat shield hitting the brake pedal. Mine was hitting & wasnt going to let it go by it... I had to notch the shield to make work...

I installed my Fat Cats yesterday and did not have this issue...  I had about 3/8" clearance to the brake pedal....

I used high temp grease. Probably only because I had some kicking around in the garage.
