I personally don't feel that should be a required maintenance item.  Yes, there is a chance for any lifter to go bad, but it's not "normal", IMO.  If I was doing other work on the top end, I'd replace them all, but otherwise I'm not going to worry about it.

an unrelated issue was the ids helps with tirewear, which i did on my 07.

that's all i could get from hd corporate...... :huepfenlol2:

Let me make something perfectly clear, here.  Harry busted my a$$.  The fact that I was 2-up has no bearing.  The fact that I was on an Ultra that weighs 1070 lbs, without me, or a passenger has no bearing.  He would have beat me solo.  I ain't no Rookie.  He beat me fair and square.  That said, tomorrow is another day.  I am stating here and now, for the whole Site to see, Ol' Harry will have his handsfull the next time we meet up on Motorsickles.  There endeth the lesson.  ;) Later--HUBBARD

Good job Harry and, Carl, enjoy the hell out of everything you've earned the privilege of doing to Maude to make sure she's in even better trim next time :2vrolijk_21: .

Twolane,

Don't think he is planning on updating Maudie any longer, he has threatened to install 2 motors on her, but I think that was in semi jest.   I think, but not entirely sure that he has his eyes set on a street glide or similiar 07 or older with a 6 speed.    The motor he aint talking about yet, but i am expecting BIG really BIG.   The question that keeps coming up in my head is if I retire now how upset would Hub be and how many THOUSANDS of dollars would I be able save.  But alas may the games continue.   We should have a thread or something for naming Maudies replacement.

Harry, is it possible to retire while we're ahead in this game?  Really.  I had one nice bike and it was just fine.  Now all the sudden I got two nice bikes and only one butt to sit on them with.  We're all ill.

All I know for sure is "next time" you guys play if I'm not there to watch I want another play by play as good as this one :drink: .

Don,

I was purely thinking of the savings of some Benjamin Franklin's, and what other things I could do with those duckets.

If you want your sides to ache ask Hubbard and Otis to tell the story about the guy with the ultra and a the nos bottle and turbo charger hauling Azz down I-95.    Some pretty funny stuff to listen to the story be told.  Maybe they will share it with us.

Lighter side, they think my parts will be in tomorrow for the 110.

Harry if you retire now.....what the hell is CHIP going to do :nixweiss:  go back and start picking on Hoist again...or even harder.

I guess this is a good thing......since too much  :vrolijk_11: and  :drink: On the sidelines here has made the need for me to go on a diet.  Chipp has lost a few pounds....must be planning something......must see the need for this loss of weight so that my electric scooter wont bust his RG's azz :huepfenlol2:

Since I'm an  :wings: here and I don't stir the pot any......you should know that this post is all in jest :coolblue:

Brian

Bring that electric scooter!
You may outrun the SERG but that will only last till you run out of dropcord.

It is being suggested to use Screaming Eagle lifters and we are putting a 251 cam in just to see how it runs with it.   I believe I will put the 255 back in, just because of the number of issues I have had.   All the parts were in only they shipped 2 of the same cam components not an upper and lower but 2 uppers so to speak.   Waiting to hear that the cam is in so they can put it back together for me.

Oh, my!  Cams will be ground, Throws must be filed, piston skirts will be trimmed, Cases will be punched, compression from Hell, Throttle Bodies akin to Mae Wests' Breasts, and geared from Satan himself.  It's not nice to mess with Mother Hubbard!  I ain't playin'!  There will be weeping and knashing of teeth.  It's only money, Harry, and both of us know it was made to spend.  If I live, I will bust your a$$ bad, and that's a natural fact.  ;) There endeth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD
