Tires
« on: January 15, 2004, 06:19:41 PM »

I'm at my dealer and they just put a 150 tire on a 2004 road king and it does not rub. (looks great) Has anybody tried this on a SEEG?

Falcon half of us are still waiting on delivery and riding our old bikes or (in my case) just sold my last one.  But wanted to say welcome to the site.

I'm curious to see a response and photo of the 150 on a SEEG.

I would bet it is not a Metzalar.  I think.....the largest size Met. that can go on a King is a 140.  So it may be an Avon, Dunlop???

It was a Metzalar. From what I have been told the belt drives are not as thick on the 2004s, so thats why now you can go bigger than 140 [smiley=biggthumpup.gif]

Hope you are as happy with the Metzler tires as I am,  they wear a little faster than a Dunlop but stick much better (in my opinion).

What was the rest of the spec's for the 150.  Have looked at replacing my dunlop with a metzler 150/80/16 but it is only a load range B tire (721lbs)  as opposed to the 140/90/16 which is load range C (940lbs) hate to give up the extra capacity the way she packs.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

I was thinking of trying the Conti's but I guess I am a creature of habit I ordered the Metzelers 140/90/16 rear and 130/90/16 front, $183 for the pair, I know they are good all around tires!!!
