Ya'll know this is a labor of love, and a passion for me. It's great when you envision something and then get it to come together! :2vrolijk_21:

Thanks a lot Bob! I'd have to be committed if it wasn't based on my statement above. Might need to be committed anyway, but I still love this bike!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

Nope, not yet. I'm planning on trying the SERT and having it done by springer and Bean in Augusta. But the way it's running right now, I hesitate to touch it. It's running rich and only get about 30mpg, but it's running so great, I'm very reluctant to mess with it! ;)

I hope you don't mind buying sparkplugs. The richer the mixture, the more likely the foul.

i wouldnt lose a wink if i knew big boyz was doing the tune. springer is techno-geek, bean studied under the great joe mondello and has forgotten more than i will know. also they tune with a factory pro dyno and a 5 gas. your numbers probably wont be as inflated as joes, but your tune will be spot on!!!!

Definitely plan on doing it Dennis, and looking forward to it too. Just saying, man she's running good right now! :2vrolijk_21:

No matter the conditions, oil never gets above 215. I've been consistently 10-15 deg below Henry's at each stop. But I gotta watch the fouling. You can't start it cold then shut it down. Lucky if it'll start again without changing plugs. Happened once. I've learned how to deal with it and am still on the replaced plugs w/o fouling again. But I want an ECM that can run my engine properly on its own. ;)

She's looking fantastic Howie, man you must be feeling like the wait is worth it man!  :2vrolijk_21:  :2vrolijk_21:
He did a fantastic job on the tour-pak, looks better than what Tomahawk/Caliber turns out and so damn much better than the faux leather chit box the MOCO sells.

Thanks a lot Joe. It was worth the wait considering I had little choice because of that POS factory 110. And hopefully the result is a reliable performance touring machine, which is what I thought I bought in the first place. She's just like I envisioned when I set out to make her perfect. In my eyes, I've done exactly that. Now instead of worrying about the next time it'll break, I ride with confidence and a big smile on my face. If it holds up that way, I could care less what it cost. I got what I wanted! ;)

Changing the plugs is no biggie. But it's not pleasant to have to do it when your all set to just startup and pull away. Having the engine setup perfectly at all operating conditions would be the ideal goal. I'm very optimistic that springer and Bean can do that with the SERT. If that's the case, I have no problem losing the PC. ;)

I find the flexilbility of sert to be a great feature(once you get used to mucking around the maps)...
Other than getting windows notebook with xp to operate(me, apple) it it has been cool to tune via buttockal sensation and plug viewing rather than shelling out king bucks for a dyno tune (not that they are bad by any means) but nothing like knowing your ride...I run quite rich across the board cause I am a lardasss...and like the low rpm acceleration..and to keep it cooler..my oil temp after a beat run n roast has stayed steady 230...Don;'t be surprised if they don;t squeeze too much out of it...Enjoy Howie, you deserve it!

I basically feel the same, but since I'm fairly computer handicapped, I have no desire to play with tuning maps. So a Dyno tune by an expert in the SERT is the way I've decided to go now. I'd like to just set it and forget it! ;)

Howie,
If you look back through some old threads, you'll see one where I slowly developed Elvis in the direction you have taken Cybil. Once I got to where you're at, a funny thing happened. My best bro Matt (Screamin_Beagle) looked at the bike and said, " you know bro, a Road King was never intended to be what you've turned this bike into "  At first, I was a little pissed with him because I'd put a lot of thought, time, effort and money into getting the bike where it was. But, as I sat on the side of the hill above his driveway and stared at the bike, I knew he was being what a true brother should be - - - - honest. And so began the stripping down of the bike to the basic SERK and then the re-building process that ended with the over the top Elvis that MJZ now owns. And I can tell you from the PM's I've gotten from Mark, I made the right decision. He has an 05 Banana that he used to think was the greatest motorcycle ever made - - - until Elvis came into his life. Now he spends his time trying to get the Nana to Elvis status.
I know that an Electra-Glide, a Road Glide and a Road King share a frame and many many other parts, but they could not be more different from each other. So here's my advice to you Howie before you get any further into this project.
Go buy an 05 SEEG and build a road bike for you and Mrs Hoist to enjoy on those long hauls. Strip Cybil down to fighting weight and enjoy your SERK for what it was intended to be. Trust me on this one Howie, I have your best interest at heart even if it does seem like I am trying to torch your wallet.

Ditto.   Hoist, you have a great looking and fine running bike, and you deserve it for what you put into it.
But(Behold ultimate truth), you should have gotten a seuc or seeg for a road tourer, you are heading in that direction.
