These past two tappet dissertations have been gold nuggets that I've printed and filed away for future reference.  I fall into the "aggressive valve train/conservative riding" category, but I will occasionally "cut a little rug."  I think Scott's plan to teardown and inspect is wise and prudent.  I will likely do the same when the time comes, and when I do, tappets will be replaced.

As for the vendor of H-D OEM tappets, I don't know either, but my builder indicates they are the same tappets used in Chevy small blocks.........if that means anything.

As far as I know Johnson makes the lifters for harley along with Chevy and Ultima.

WooHoo! Great news! Just heard from Vern! I'm next at bat. We'll settle with Feuling tomorrow. My motor will get the rest of the parts ordered. It'll get built when everything's in. My fork legs are back now, he can change my neck bearings, and put the front end back together. Then he can do the swingarm bearings and pivot shaft. Should be done by the end of January at this point!!! :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3: :huepfenjump3:

HeHe!!! I just found it too. Similar stuff. True Track uses Bronze pivot bearings and SS Pivot Shaft. Looked like a winner to me. I don't know anyone who has it at all. Just wanted to give it a try! ;)
