Was out for a ride with a friend, hit the throttle to pass a car, "bang", black smoke out the pipe, bad noises, engine dies.  Flatbed bike to my dealer, disassembles engine and following pics of what he found...

You obviously didn't have the new cure all Graphite head gasket.

Finally the culprit, exhaust valve keeper failed.  Note absence of any grooves to secure the valve stem.  Valve dropped into the cylinder and "pow".  As a minimum need new head, piston, cylinder, connecting rod.  Haven't opened the cam chest or broken the cases apart, so God only knows what else is bent or broke.

Motor is out of W along time ago.  Zipper's built it a year ago and I have put 20K miles on it since.  Up until now motor has run perfect and I have been a very happy camper.  I don't know why this keeper failed, all the parts used are premium quality and designed for cams with more lift than I have, but I am taking the motor back to Zipper's on Monday so they can take a look and rebuild her again.  A lousy $10 part can cause thousands in damage without any warning, amazing.  As they say, "you wanna play, ya gotta pay!"
