2007 CVO?
« on: March 15, 2008, 01:35:08 AM »

I have been flying under the radar about posting. If you speek your mind or disagree with someone else you are a jack ass. So I have been keeping the comments to a minimum. The ones that know me I'm just here for fun and mean no harm.

My comment is knowing what you know now about those piles... would any of you that own them buy another? Or, do you wish you didn't get one all together.. I don't think I've read one positive post about a 110 yet. Again, no hard feelings it's just me thinking out loud.

This Illinois boy got to put on a 100+ miles in the last two days. Love the new bike (thanks Mike) Had a few things done to it over the winter. This thing is bad ass! I'll post some pics soon!!

You know tommyo, I have had  nothing go wrong with my bike whatsoever. Mind you I have under 5000 miles. A friend of  mine has about 40000km on his with nothing but good things to say about his Ultra 110" CVO. I don't know anyone else who has one other than the members here. Did I personally have anything go wrong no. So I for one can't bash them!

Knowing what I know now, I'd still buy my bike again. It's sorta like a wife. I wouldn't take a million dollars for the one I've got, BUT, I wouldn't give a dime for another one just like her.

I love my bike. As much as we gave for them sure, we shouldn't be having to go through this. But, on the other hand, as much as we gave for them, what's a few more bucks to fix it right? Half of the people who have perfectly good running machines, spend 4-5 K to increase power anyways. Everytime I get on my bike, I'm amazed at how much fun it is to ride. Do it again? Damn skippy.

Oh, I love my wife too. Marry her again? Damn skippy. She's the one who talked me into buying the bike.

You are indeed a very fortunate man.  And she is a darn fine woman who obviously loves you lots and lots.
Never had the problems with other vehicles that we hear people have here with there bikes.  I don't have the 110 engine issues, but have had issues. More caused by dealers than the makeup of the bike from the factory, but had problems with that too.  Would I buy it again?  Absolutely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I love my bike.

I have had couple head gaskets go,and mine is in getting 2 cly's,valve job (because of 24,000 miles on heads).I see guys talking about lemon laws and I think no way will harley get a chance to get my bike. I don't care how many parts they change or put on the jester they'll just have to fix her.I've able to strech my head gaskets to winter jobs both times, and now my dealer rides a twin to mine (can you say loaner LOL).I get tons more enjoyment than problems, and yes I will buy another one and hold on to this one. Tommy, I have had the gaskets done & cylinders replaced. Yes, my bike has seen plenty of shop time. Heated grips are now not working. Coming from a family that is in the manufacturing business (amusement machines), I understand the inherent problems of engineering a machine. At some point you recognize that there is a problem and quietly phase that problem out with a replacement (i.e. new model) in order to sell more units. It would not surprise me to see the 110" discontinued and a new 113" or something similar replace it. I have set up my bike the way I want which means spending more money on parts which is why Harley Davidson is in business. With all of this being said, I love my SEUC² and do not want to get rid of it. I would still recommend someone to buy one and will still buy another one in the future.

In a flash, would I buy my bike again. I'd just know going in that it needs a new engine. But what HD motor never needed help. This one just needs more than any other in quite some time. But just ask any Shovelhead guy if he'd own another. Bet most or all die hard SH guys wouldn't hesitate either! ;)

There probably isn't that much wrong with the 110" motor.  You hear about the problems here but don't forget the number of 110"s on here is a small percentage of all those sold.  I know several people that have them and have had no problems.  One friend drives the living crap out of his and has had absolutely no issues.

just my .02 cents worth.  I would consider buying one.

We are so disenchanted we will all buy the next model and the one after that..Don't you know it's human nature to moan.  My bike is a 110 and it's the best in the world (for the moment anyway) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Love my CACO SERK to bits and - so far - have had no issues. Mind I did do the basics to the bike to keep the heat down and make her breath a little easier before she hit the road. So far so good and looking forward to my 7,000 mile jaunt round the good ole U S of A in August.

Nige.

Thinks - I must get a new picture of the scoot in the pic below as she has a good few extra bits since that pic was taken.

Nice to hear from guys who are doing OK with these. I truly hope your luck continues to hold up. Just keep an eye on them. If they're changing the parts designs on these engines, then the earlier designed parts should be suspect too. But I'm happy for all you guys. :2vrolijk_21:

It's no secret that the introduction of the CVO 110 has not been a very successful engine campaign.Would I do it again? Probably. Would I expect better then, probably "Yes" to that too. Stupid? Maybe. Love the bike? Definitely.

Whatcha gonna do? If you like it, buy it and deal with it.

TommyO,
Unfortunately, the comments you hear about the 110's, are obviously from the ones that are having problems.  When things are going right, there's nothing to complain about, so you don't hear from those people.  I've not had a lick of problem with my 110 engine.  In fact the only problems I've had have been cosmetic and had to have the leather tour pak replaced, which due to improper installation, caused me to have to have the electric locking mechanism replaced on the tour pak.  Mechanically, the ride has been sound.  (knock on wood).   Would I buy the bike again?  In a heartbeat!!!
