Very cool to hear all the positive comments about your bikes. I do understand that there are so many out there and the ones we see here seem to have issues but more issues than any other bikes out there. To lay down $35 G on a bike that sees more shop walls than the road... man I would be thinking different. Again I'm not ripping your bikes... and yes they are very cool rides but aren't we supposed to be riding them more than wrenching them? Just thinking out loud!!

TommyO,
I laid down $35K+ (after having things installed prior to delivery), and getting everything I expected.  It's not a perfect machine, but it's mine, and it brings me happiness even just seeing it sitting in the garage...as far as I'm concerned, it's worth it, no matter what, and I plan on keeping it for quite awhile.

I do like that the guys that are having the issues are standing by their bikes and stick with them. Kind of like some of us guys, we are not perfect, but our women stand by us and stick with us!! :rolleyes3:

I would not buy a 110, just because of the "what if" factor!! I usually don't leave a bike stock, but I would not want to spend $35,000+ and possibly start out with problems!! :confused5: I would rather spend less and have it done the way I would want it!!

Don't get me wrong, I agree that any bike could have issues, especially when you start changing things!! I would just rather say that I did that, instead of saying that I bought it that way and possibly have issues with what you just spent $35+ on!!

I recently even thought of buying an 05 banana, but I am kind of in the works of another bike and I couldn't do both right now!! I found a nice one with only 4,100 miles on it, I posted it under the 3rd party sales here, it's a nice bike, I like the bananas, because you don't see alot of them and because they are not 110's!! :huepfenlol2:

This is kind of the same post that I did a few months ago, I don't knock anyones choice for what they want or like! The CVO's are attention getters when they are around and thats great, I just hate seeing these guys spend that kind of $$$$ on these things and possibly have an issue!! Sure we hear more about them here because of most guys here own them, but what about all the 110 owners that are not on this site and are having an issue with their bikes and don't know anything but what their dealer is telling them!! You know that if the customer is not aware of things, that the dealer probably won't tell the truth to the customer!! :nixweiss:

Hopefully that the rumor is true about the 110's not being made anymore and that a new motor is in production!! I have heard that from a couple of different people!! :nixweiss:

Tommyo added some chrome and some accessories to the bike and he put some new metzler tires on too!! I am not sure why, cause he left half of the tire on the street on the way home from the dealer!! :zstupid: Plus he left a 50ft patch in the dealer parking lot to say thanks!! He's going to need a new tire before riding season even gets here!! :shocked2:

Once I get my bike going, I will post what the plan is!! Can anyone say 120....!!!!! :sneaky:

Not sure if I am tempting fate saying this but when the warranty runs out and "if" it goes tits up then I may look at an alternative motor - but the bike stays. :soapbox:

I am on second set of head gaskets and this past Friday my Starter Ring Gear pooped itself, but luckily started and got me home from work.  Now I need to tow it back to the dealer for a 3rd time in a year.  Got rid of a 2004 Road King Classic that brought me from Beaufort, SC to AZ and then up to Canada and back down through Colorado and back to AZ and then back to SC.  It had a 95" Big Bore Harley Kit in it and that was the only time the bike was in the Dealer for anything(oil changes done at a local shop for convenience).
I wish I still had that bike instead of this 07 SE Ultra, I am now really worried about taking the bike on trips because I may get stuck somewhere.  That is no fun to have to worry about that.  I did take the SE Ultra to Key West from Beaufort, SC, but that was before the 1st set of head gaskets were done on it.  No long tips since then.  Not sure if I am gonna sell this thing after the ring gear is replaced and put back to running order.
Would really like a 2003 Silver and Black Ultra Classic like Chip has instead of this SE Ultra.
So, to make a long story short...I would not buy another one of these or a Harley made after 2006.

I spoke to my dealer this afternoon. He told me that after the fiasco with the Rocker not being able to ship due to parts availability no new product will ship until there is sufficient supply on hand. This means, according to him, that if a new engine were to come out, it would have replacement parts on hand before release.

Doing it over, 95% chance I'd have gotten an RK Classic, put a 103 in it and added the bits that I like about the SERK.  I have a feeling the 110 will be a millstone if I decide to sell this one regardless of whether most of them are okay.  Sure this site represents a small percentage of owners, but it's not just a "Problems with CVO" site, it represents a cross-section and if the problems were confined to a small percentage of engines overall there should be VERY few people here with them.  That some have repeats of the same thing points to specific components that are in all of them since they are replacing those same components again and again.  I bought into the idea that the days of not buying a first-year engine were over; should have remembered who I was dealing with and what their track record is on that.

If you have a bike with a 110" motor, DO NOT PARK IT IN MY GARAGE!!!!!! Every single CVO 110 that has been in my garage, (Hoist, HogBreath, Hard10, TwoJay and mine) have all had failed head gaskets and most of them have had the problem more than once. Hoist went another direction and I don't know if TwoJay has had a returning problem.

Not saying that keeping your bike out of my garage will save your motor, as many failed motors have never seen the backside of my garage door, but I'm just saying. ;D
