Beyond the fact that they're just not very good shocks? :nixweiss:

There are other shocks out there that are much better for your bike. ;)

Many have changed to aftermarket shocks, but one thing you might try before that is adding more air to your stock ones. The manual for the '04's is incorrect where it states the maximum amount you can put in them (max is 50 psi). If you want to go aftermarket many have gone w/the Progressives, Legends, and Bitubo's (sp).

Dawg57-

Do what d00d stated and try raising the air pressure first.  If that doesn't satisfy you, install the Progressive 440's for around $400 or the Bitubos for $700 plus as Hoist stated.

I'd recommend the Bitubos.  Have them on both of my bikes and love them.  Great handling, and a much nicer ride than the Progressives that I took off.

Geez thanks, just what I need, another positive vote to take off the $400 progressives and put on $800 bitubos.

Guess I should start by unloading the POS sir shocks on eBay.

My wife hated the Progressives since she got "beat up" back there, but she loves the Bitubos

My wife hated the stock air shocks, which is why I have progressives now, she thinks she loves them.

OK, now I understand what you're asking about - your stock air shocks aren't holding pressure.  May be one of the shocks, or it could just be a leak at the fill valve or one of the air lines.  If you were satisfied with the ride before the leak problem (well, I suppose it's possible), after verifying that your leak is actually at the shock just grab another set of the stock shocks.  There are plenty of folks on this site with take-offs I'm sure they will sell at a very reasonable price.  If you want to maintain the lowered stance, make sure you specify the Profile 12 inch shocks.

For information on the Bitubos, go here:
