I try to do my homework. Search the site, refine it, read read read.... The definitive answer escapes me for some reason.

I have my 1000 mile service due ( I am really at 1,458 ) and I don't want the $$SYN$$ crap that the "dealer" will recommend. Do we have an concensus regarding the brand and (approximate) viscosity for all holes?

I remain a fan of Mobile 1 Fully Synthetic 15-50 for engine oil. Is this still okay for the 110" ? And the others?


I can't find an answer, of course. But I value the opinions here with out doubt.

How about one more definitive answer?

With 5 bikes at 4 quarts per, where can I buy Mobil 1 and get somewhat of a decent price?

I buy my Mobil 1 M Twin a Auto Zone - I buy a couple of cases at at time...I've talked them into a 15% discount...

I buy my Redline MTL and ShockProof at a place in town called LeftHander Chassis...they manufacture short track stock car chassis and sell all kinds of high performance equipment and fluids...  I have a had a 20% discount from them for years since the racing days...

I feel stupid - but can't answer your question.  Like I said, I've only bought by multiple cases at a discount - never bought by the quart or did the math...  I really don't even remember what I paid for the cases - just new I wanted it and got them to discount it...

Sorry to ask a stupid question.
In retrospect does it really matter?
I will beat the poop out of them (Autozone) till they give me 15% off (so I can be like Scott) and buy 4 or 6 cases.
Lets see, 6 cases X 12 per ='s 72 divided by 4 per ='s 18 divided by 5 bikes ='s 3.something oil changes.
Chit better get 7 cases can't forget about the scooters,  WAIT, their two stoke!
