Which Insurance co do you all use?
« on: April 26, 2005, 12:47:52 PM »

I am in the process of getting my wrecked bike fixed and was wondering if anyone else out there has any expierence with their insurance company and what if any issues they had getting their bike repaired.   My experience with Harley-Davidson Ins./Dairyland is;  They were real helpful, with the exception of 2 month delay getting the "fairmarket value".  After getting the fair market value, I couldn't go out an buy/find an exact replacement bike.  I opted to to get the bike repaired, Dairyland uses 50% of the fairmarket value around 29K (they said they get 40% recovery for Harleys no mater what the condition).  Took out a contract repair on the estimated cost.  Dairyland provides no medical insurance coverage for the rider.  Anyone recommend other insurance companies?

A three page thread on What Insurance Does Everyone Have? is available at the link.    [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  Sorry, we have never had to test ours, but thought that it might be helpful to see what others said about their insurance, all in one place.   [smiley=laugh.gif]

I have Allstate.  No problems.  When I had my accident, within three days the agent was calling me to tell me that a check for $13xxx.xx was at the dealership waiting for my signature (hell, I was still in the middle of twelve days of surgeries).  I could not believe how fast they were on that.

The dealership completed the estimate and faxed it over and they had a check their the same afternoon.  There were a few add on items by the time they were done and that was no problem, either.

No, my insurance has not gone up, either.......even thow the accident was my fault.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, roadrunner,
Mine is included in my Homeowners Policy with Nationwide.  Have never turned in claim, so can't relate on service.  Insured for $40,000.00 w/$1000.00 deductible.  Premium is $603.56 per year.  Later--HUBBARD

It's only a small claim so not much to gy by.  But when the tour pak got stolen a few weeks ago the service was absolutely superb with Progressive.  The theft happened on a Monday morning.  The adjustor drove in and looked at it on Tuesday.  I had the check in hand on Thursday or Friday (don't remember for sure).

I was happy as hell w/ Nationwide through my home until I added the 3rd bike and they called it a fleet. Agent said Nationwide wouldn't do 3. Switched to Progressive and thankfully no claims experience.

State Farm.  About $600.00 with $500.00 deductible per year for full coverage, including all add-ons, as long as I have the receipt and/or photo as evidence of the add.

just to clear up a previous point on the 2 insurance companies - this is only from watching and dealing with WRECKS - they are and were very poor performers as the customer (YOU) were involved (they got burned.) prices may be less or in alignment with others and non wreck involvement may be --- great --- that is only what we ask for when we want coverage and require immediate response when we want back on the road ASAP - but in our cases with speciality vehicles it does take longer on top of everything else - does any one else who is at a dealership have a comment of their experience ?????? really would like to read it and "hear" it - this is a very personal point & thread going here. our coverage on the new yellow is a tad bit over $600 a yr - I remember paying $12 a season for coverage - does that give the age away - even then would get insurance - get plates - go cancel the insurance and drive like h-- - man was i stupid - days of being [smiley=toilet.gif] invencible

Tony, will you check with Rick in service and see if they concur with Shovelhead regarding Progressive and Foremost?
