Paint Problems 08 Copper Canyon
« on: March 24, 2008, 10:09:25 AM »

I picked up my Copper Canyon CUSE in December and at delivery noted several air bubbles in the clear coat on the paint. These were all in the Fairing inner and outer. I also had a three ripples in the back of the left saddle bag. almost looked like finger prints where someone had picked it before it was dry.

The sales manager said trying to fix wasn't an option and ordered new parts. I had the new fairings and saddle bag installed this past weekend and everything looks great.

Just wondering if anyone else has had to deal with a similar problem.

Nope... Mine came through fine, which is to say it doesn't have any actual flaws.  The paint on all the SE bikes seems to have a lot of orange peel which anoys alot of people (rightly so at the price we're paying).  I've also read some complaints about the color not matching between different parts on the '08s, although alot of us believe that it's simply the way these bikes change color depending on the light angles.

Ride Safe,

The only paint problem I had on my Screamin Nemo was the left side cover.  The side cover had a chunk of paint knocked off (I suspect that the tech did it during set-up).  The dealer was kind enough to point it out to me....so I didn't have to find it on my own.
The dealer ordered a replacement side cover and all is well with the paint now.

like a new girl friend...I am still fondling this baby! So far no flaws! One chip at the base of the antennae that I found delivery day must have been the tech-not worth chasing for a replacement-it's smaller than the size of a q-tip.

Perhaps just a bad day at union plant :)

Your dealer and warranty is taking care of it --What do you have to worry about it-- the system is working as designed  :2vrolijk_21:
