Paper work
« on: March 24, 2008, 02:48:34 PM »

Hello all, I recently picked up my new 08 FLHTCUSE3 from a dealer in NC. The bike was ordered back in September 07. It arrived at the dealership in November 07. I had them send me the owners manual when they sent my Registration info. I was in Florida and was in no real hurry to come to the cold north. I was still enjoying the weather and my 03RK. Question is upon my arrival I asked the dealer about any additional paperwork or info that went with the bike. He stated there was none. I thought this unusual since my 03 had a complete glossy folder with  lots of bull in it. I was told that there are no warrentee cards with the 08's or additional paperwork. Is my dealer on the level or bs'in me??? Thanks Russ

Russ,

Welcome from Oklahoma!

I can't remember everything, but you should get more than just an owners manual.  If I remember right, there is a book on the XM stereo and a couple of other small brochures

Yup, that's how I remember it too with my 07 CUSE.  The fancy stuff must be dealer specific.  The TP had all the stuff in it:  Intercom headset (1), nav CD, gold key, indoor storage cover, the three manuals listed above, garage door opener receiver etc.  The only thing shiney I got was a new bike.  Welcome to the site.  I just got back from FLA yesterday and there bikes EVERYWHERE (or at least it seemed that way since I haven't ridden mine in over 4 months)

Yep... My '08 FLHTCUSE3 came with three manuals as described plus a folder to hold the manual.  Also there where some loose papers with some addendums to the manual.  I can check the specifics when I get home tonight if you need to know.

You should also get a pack with three CDs for the Nav system and a paper explaining that you now have three CDs instead of the two as stated in the manual.  Without them you can't use the built in GPS.

Ride Safe,
J-Carr

Hey Jim, you'rre back to the land of living. How was the holiday?

It was warm, refreshing and expensive.  It'll be hard to convince the wife that 44 hours in a car is worth a week off from work in the future.  Thanks for asking.  I'm thinking of getting my bike back soon (within the next two weeks).  Only two more garbage days.  :jack:
