Bassani Slip Ons - how do they sound?
« on: March 24, 2008, 06:11:15 PM »

Hi everyone, this is my first post, just paid for my 08 Annie SERK last weekend, waiting for 8ft snowbanks to melt before I can ride.

Does anyone have any advice on the Bassani Slip-ons, my dealer told me to stay with the stock headers, my original thought was to go with RHTD. I like the look of the Bassani Scallop Cut, something a little different, but I do not know if they sound good as know one in my area has them.

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I had them on a basically stock 103 w/ the stock headers before I switched to the Fat Cat 2 into one. I really liked the sound, deep & rumbly (is that a word?) w/ a nice deep rap on decell.

Daryl,
Congratulations on your first post.  If you go with slip ons you might be able to get away without retuning.  It'll make it slightly leaner and slightly warmer but if you are waiting for snowbanks to melt your climate may be just right for such an endevour.  However, you can gain HP, TQ, and a cooler engine by doing a tune along with a high flow air cleaner.  I have slip ons on mine for now but I knew all along that it was temporary.

Thanks for the reply, I want to keep the 4" mufflers if I can, that was one of the big reasons for not going to RHTD's for now, also the Bassani's are not that common so the look will be a little different as well, I do think the RHTD's and BUB 7's are eventually the way to go, maybe they will come out with a 4" can down the road. I am also thinking of adding a Heavy Breather, any comments on the HB.
