I've washed my Ultra Classics (I've had two of them) and this SEEG with a garden hose and it's never been a problem.  I try not to hit the speakers directly with the full force of the nozzle but I'm sure there has been a time or two that I did (when washing or rinsing the inside of the fairing) and still no problem.  Just my experience.

I wash my bikes as follows.  I use a good car wash soap like McGuires with lots of suds.  use  a wash mit for the fenders, and tank and fairing. I then use a narrow 6" SOFT paint brush with lots of suds to get into all the nooks/crannys. I rinse the bike with one of those hose attachments that has the "gentle shower" nozzle on it. Low water pressure is the key when rinsing. Hell ..I washed the SEEG and didnt even remove the seat. Dry with the leaf blower...which my wife claims is a yard /garden tool...but what does she know!!!!

Watch the leaf blower they tend to blow partiacles(non filtered air)which can scratch the paint,  I use a air force dryer heated and filtered air.

Horror of horrors, I never point a water hose at my dash. Damp rag, etc. does fine for me. Speakers can take the rain so they can take a little indirect spray. Also, don't point the hose at your switches. Blasting water up in there just can't be a good thing. Lastly, don't use a power wash around wheel bearings. Sealed or not it's just not a good idea.

i have two non-scraping cups that i place in the speaker cut-outs - then just use the mitt over this area @radio - also slide my ----- bike lift out into the driveway outa the garage - raise the bike and thoroughly clean the frame-underside - lift cost me $325 and is a blessing for an ole shi- like me - the lift is also made by a company that makes most blowers for drying bikes - cycle dry - also work and service bike off this lift for freinds who want to work on their bikes - while I sit back and have a  [smiley=drink.gif] or [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]

Are you using the 4HP or 8HP air forced dryer?

4hp, it works great! I don't think the extra $ for the 8hp would be worthwhile given how well the 4hp works.

Amazon.com has them for $194.50. Here's the link:

The force dryer sounds like something I want to buy.  Does anyone have experience with the 8hp and think it is worth the extra money or not?

FYI. I have the 4hp model and it is more than enough in my mind.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
