Placebo charger effect :huepfenlol2: .
The lighter socket isn't connected to the battery unless you also leave the switch on.

Now you guys are taking just too much for granted - haven't you already hooked up your lighter to a non switched circuit??????

Ya got one right underneath the radio, even on the same side  :2vrolijk_21:

That was a good side benefit.  Has been long enough back I don't remember for sure know.  But pretty sure I dropped the pigtail for the battery tender, another pigtail for something else and the still different one yet to be installed for the heated clothes.  So overall lost two connections at the battery didn't need anymore because I could use this for everything with just one cable adaptor.

All the pigtails on the battery really start to clutter things up. And its not like we have room to bury a bus bar in there.

So I will be doing this neat idea, get rid of two heated gear piqtails and the battery tender. And the power will be running down to the fuse box, I'll use one of the blanks for a fused supplied.

Yes it does, and after riding with the heated gear yesterday I kept checking to make sure the pitails didn't pop and drop onto the pipe. This is such a simple solution. Not having to worry about the pulling the wire from under the seat and all. AND you get to drop a few power cords. This will be on the short list.

Actually, I had already planned on flush mounting a powerlet in the tourpak for my wife's heated gear (I have a 12 gauge B+ going to the tourpak). Just never thought about doing this. You get  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: on this one.

Correct me if I am wrong (as if you wouldn't) but isn't the B+ connector a non switched (always hot), Non fused - other than the 40a maxi, connector? If this is so, I might be worried having that run back and into the tp. I too was going to hook into th B+ but instead made my own 4 pin Deutsch connector and hooked into the accessory connector so she could switch it on and off at the fairing.  I was worried about the load through the smaller wires, but after a year all seems good. I did use marine grade tinned wire so I could go with a smaller gauge. Got this from rewiring my house boat. Again, I am not saying my way is the right way, just curious.

;D :carrot:  Everyone all at once--tell me how stupid I am--the pigtail from my battery for the tender connection that I thought shorted out the electrical system--the exposed metel connector is the ground side--could not cause any problems like I was having.  Did find broken connector on pos battery connector terminal--too many harnesses I guess.

That's ok.  Anytime it could've been worse, and wasn't; that's a little victory :2vrolijk_21: .

I'll take stupid over potentially fried parts any day.
