New to this forum and new to Harleys. I have been riding since 1962, Yamahas, Kawasaki's, Bridgestone, Honda ( all Japanese bikes). My most recent bike was a 2002 Goldwing. I loved that bike and was proud of the fact that it was made in Ohio, not Japan. When Honda announced that it was going to be closing the Maryville, Ohio factory, I was disappointed enough to start looking around for a new bike. My wife and I do mostly touring type riding and generally pull a little trailer behind us for all the extra clothes and stuff. The Wing is a pretty fast and powerfull bike and we put roughly 49,000 miles on it since 2002. I was looking for something that would keep up our interest in the ride and would be an American made bike. The victory looked too strange for my tastes. We bought a Screamin' Eagle 105th ann. Ultra. Actually we ordered it because the dealer did not have what we wanted in stock. It is supposed to be here April 11 and the dealer says 5 days or so to set it up. He gave me a good deal on the Wing, so we traded it in and are now "between" bikes.
My wife and I are both getting into the Harley thing and are getting new jackets, helmets and such to go along with the new bike. I have been speaking metric for so long it will take me awhile to get into the Harley speak. Just kidding, sort of. I have loved every bike that I have ever had and know I will love the Ultra just as much if not more because it is a fine machine.
I hope the 110 CI engine will keep up with my friends that still have Wings, but even if it does not, the bike looks better.
We will be getting our trailer painted to match the bike, or at least be pretty close.
