East Coast Timing Association Event this weekend
« on: April 06, 2008, 05:41:30 PM »

There was an event this weekend at an old abandoned airport in Maxton NC.

The website for the organization is -->  http://www.ecta-lsr.com/

The weather generally sucked and sent a bunch of people home.

Today was the best of the three days and there were a lots of runs.

This is not a car show. These are serious people with serious machines that all share the common goal of going fast.

I took a some pictures to show the variety of entries.

Nancy and I saw a Hayabusa run 244 with a head wind.

It was a damn shame there were only two Harley's running, a flathead and a knuckle.

Here are some pictures,

First few are for MikeR

Here's a shot inside the American Motors car.
Not exactly stock HUH?
Kinda like Otis's SERG!

A view down the track.
You had one mile to get it on.
There was a small dogleg and then it was balls to the wall.
YeeHaaa!
That's the timing tower at the right in the picture.

Here's a lady on a naked Busa.
Now Nancy wants to bring the Lowrider out for the next event!
She ran 178.

There were all kinds of machimes there.
From a 50cc scooter that ran 68 mph to a 240 something busa.
Here's a rather unique ride.
I called it the flying brick.
Note the air scoop inside the bus.
It ran 144, not bad for a brick!

It was a three day event that was rained out Friday and Saturday.
There were serious machines there and there were serious people twisting the throttle.
We had a great time.
How about 150 MPH on a bagger?
I have tried to get Hubbard to come but he would rather play with Harry.
I think Otis should come next time with the Vrod.
You can stay with us Randy if that helps!

Great organization!
Check them out,
