Hate to bring this up but,

With fuel prices up 40% can you imagine the price of an 09 Harley.

If damn fuel wasn't so expensive it would be worthwhile to truck the excess water to the drought stricken states.

Sooner or later we are "really" going to get hit with the loss of strength in the dollar.  Steel is more, rubber is more, hell everything is more.  It truly has to impact cost of goods soon.

The only way for it not to impact bike prices is for HD to absorb the loss of profit and who knows how long they can do that to hold pricing.  If they raise prices too much it will affect volume even more and then it begins the spiral down that leads us to recession because it won't be only the MoCo that has the issue, we will see it (and are seeing it) throughout the entire spectrum of business.

Funny thing is with gloabal warming we are having a 100 or even 200 year event.

Although snow depths are at records, the water yield is not as this snow was very light and does not contain as much water volume.  Go figure :nixweiss:

You think we should sell the bikes and buy us a used KLR650 and head for the hills.
When I look around I sometimes think that's a good plan.
At 60 miles to the gallon and go anywhere it might work best!

No, but it might be wise to bury a 5,000 gallon fuel tank in the hills for a private stash.

We all may be planting victory gardens again soon too.

Remember reading that John Denver did that.  Considering the escalating price of gas, it has as much potential as the stock market for return on investment.

Food prices are on the rise for the obvious reasons - corn diversion to ethanol & energy cost increases.  Victory gardens - nothing like some good fresh 'maters.   Mmmmmm.....

Wasn't that what made John Denver very unpopular with his neighbours?

I'd rather have a neighbor with a gasoline stash than experimental airplanes.
