OK so we don't look quite as bad as we did before.

On the basis of 3.78 litres to the US Gallon we are paying around $9.21 a gallon for diesel and $8.25 a gallon for unleaded. Thats working on an exchange rate of $1.95 to the British £1.00 Sterling.

Is that supposed to make me feel better!!!!

Lets hope not Craig - I budgeted for fuel at prices around the $4.00 a gallon mark.

My Math reckons that for my 7000 mile USA pick up ride in August I should have a fuel bill of around £431.00 or $825.00 US. This is based on an average mp(US)g of around 32 and using the $2.03 that I bought my holiday dollars at a while ago. Approx. 220 US Gallons in total.

The same amount would cost me $1,816.00 over here at current prices for unleaded.

Bring on the Helium motor.

That post brings up a good point. When the heck are they going to drop that stupid .9? When gas was 29.9 cents a gallon it made marketing sense, but now that the prices jumps a quarter at a time, is that stupid 9/10ths of a penny tricking me into thinking it's a penny cheaper than it really is?

It's time to drop the stupid .9!!!

Back in the days when we had feet & inches we also had old pennies. Shops used to price stuff at say 19s 11d
(just under £1)  more confused We buy timber sizes 20mm x  40mm  say £1.80p  A FOOT
