Like I have said many times before, I don't know what is more disappointing...the issues with the motor or the continued denial of the issue by the MOCO and its dealer network...   >:( :soapbox: :beatdeadhorse:

The thing that is most disappointing to me Scott is that the MoCo has seen fit to ignore and screw over it's loyal customers for many years now, and even after seeing a slowdown in sales they still don't see the light.  They foisted off a flawed cam chain system on us for seven years and never admitted to a problem or came up with a solution other than the customer forking out lots of cash to replace the parts themselves.  Now they are taking the same approach with the crank issues and the 110 leaks.  And before someone jumps to their defense and says "yeah, but they're working on it", it's been close to two years now.  How long does it take to track down your low bid Chinese supplier, kick his cheap no-quality ass, and then take the tooling back and find someone to do the stuff right?  And how long would it take for them to compose and mail a letter to owners acknowledging some issues and promising to fix them without regard to the status of the limited warranty?  I have a feeling that most of their customers would give them yet another free pass on the quality issues if they would just be honest and share some information.

I agree with Jerry, heck it ain t rocket science, the 110 is really the same basic design for how many years now? Although i have had no problems yet at 5k on my 07 plenty of the guys here have. It's not like they have to reinvent something or redesign an entire powertrain. The MOCO needs more gearheads and less marketing and bean counters under their employment. These anal retentaive morons that are educated beyond their intelligence levels. And scarier yet is they really beleive their own BS! I upon purchase of my bike new know for a fact that none of the fastners were torqued to HD specs because i checked them and retourqued them myself. MORE GEAR HEADS AND LESS EXECUTIVES or even better how about GEARHEAD EXEC'S  That would surely fix the MOCO troubles, some good old seat of the pants to the point no-nonses management. Maybe we should consider a buy out and get it back to the way it was excepting the AMF days of course.

Ahhhh that felt good now on to things i can change 8)

Its just great to be part of Harley Davidson Beta Test Team. I did it back in 1999 with BMW. I sold the K1200 LTC because of the arrogant SOB's at BMW.  These problems will devalue the price of 07'a and 08's bikes. The only way this will be resolved is with a class action suit. The newspapers and bike mags will pick it up and run with it.

I don't know if the mags will run with it or not. The MOCO gives considerable amounts of moneys to each of them each year. Kinda like the old saying...don't bite the hand that feeds you.

The MOCO knows there is a problem....at least a year now. That is how long it has been since I had a discussion on the head gasket situation with one of their tech reps.

One of the mechanics I know just went to school...it was discussed in school.

They have sent reps out to discuss and to teach the dealerships the MOCO's way of handling situations like this.

The MOCO didn't get big and rich from screwing us for many years....we knew they were doing it....and went back to them for more.
