In the first picture, the shine from the black is so sharp, it reflects the pavement. I like it shiny like that.

I vote keep the black foundation,  and continue the ghost flame theme in a fat stripe of flames.

I like this so far. I would make it a little longer, more swept towards the rear fender, and let the fender end be the finishing point as it is already. Ya know? Longer, slightly more narrow....I like that look.

It could be me. I don't have the best eye. But I don't think that flame job goes with your factory paint scheme. I know there are ghost flames in your paint. But I'm not sure about mxing that with traditional flames. I hope you don't get upset. It's just my opinion. But a flame job more inline with the ghost flame scheme would be hot. And integrating both colors of the bike into them somehow too. Then again, I could be completely offbase! Good luck sarge! :2vrolijk_21:

No offense here, but the flames don't flow with the paint scheme on the bike, but that's the beauty of it, each person's bike is individual.  I thought about something like this with the ghost flames in the swoosh to match the ones on the bike already and then the fade glow around the swoosh.  Excuse the quick drawing, it is pretty rough.  Just my .02

Get some ideas from a painter. They're the artists! Here's who I used. He can duplicate or compliment any CVO paint job. Give Gene a call sometime. ;)

I liked the positions of the flames. I would go with the ghost flames, and viola! whatever that means.

Keep the side locations as shown previously, narrow just a little, go ghost flame. It would look hot.

I do like lilbear's idea. That's close to what I think is right for you.

I am no artist. I can't even draw a straight line with a ruler.

However, the shape on the gas tank which borders the ghost flames is what I had in mind.

I told ya I suck as an artist. I use words to free express my inner artist.

And I would starve as a writer. What does that tell ya?

Anyway, that's the look, (of course with major improvements and artistic quality above my second grade water color ability) with or without the HD logo, more without than with.

Sarge,

Take your time to make sure you come up with a paint scheme you really like. Paint work is fairly expensive so you don't want to rush into it and then see or think of something you like better later on. I agree with Hoist on this one:
1. Come up with a design that you like that fits in with the SE style and that looks like it could have come from the factory that way
2. Call the folks at Paint by Gene (or your favorite painter if you have one) -they can help you (I have a King TourPak at Gene's that they are just finishing up now)

Our opinions on this site are just ideas you can use to help brainstorm the design. Ultimately, though just go with whatever makes YOU happy! My $.02 worth.  ;D ;D
