What a great night. I love Harlem! Tonight we had tickets to see Joe Jackson at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC. First we met at Amy Ruths Soul Food Restaurant for some authentic Southern Soul Food. Fried chicken, ribs, collard greens, grits, mac & cheese, cornbread, sweet tea, etc. Ya'll know the drill. This place is a top rated Soul Food joint and their chit is DELICIOUS!!! :2vrolijk_21: It's on W 116th St. ;)

After dinner, we headed over to the infamous Apollo theater on 125th Street to catch Joe Jackson. I'm a little unconventional, so it makes sense my musical tastes would be too. Joe's been around since the early 80's. He's a jazzy rock kinda guy who composes some esoteric music. The man is a genius on piano!!! He played a buncha old songs as well as cuts from his new album, Rain. It was great seeing him again. He looked fantastic. The music was great. The food was great. The evening was great. You get a chance, catch Joe's act. He's touring the US now. :2vrolijk_21:

Sounds like a you had a blast Howie. Nothing better than some live music and a good feed to help it along.

We went to a local country pub with beamed ceilings and a roaring open fire and had a couple of Real Ales and a good traditional British Pub meal  :)

Good stuff.

I had a Steak and Ale Pie topped with Shortcrust pastry (I don't do puff pastry) with a thick gravy, new potatoes, broccoli, mange tout, carrots, cauliflower and a few fries to mop the gravy up with.
