BB,
For a change, we both have the only bikes we'll need for a while.  Maybe in 8-10 years or so,  Jap Inc. might have something worth riding. I do agree that the Moco F'ed up with increasing the capacity that they did over the last few years.  But again,  the law's of economics doesn't apply to HD.  They just keep screwing their customers.......and we still come back (I'm to blame too!!!!).

One would think so, but you never know where /when opportunity will knock.

I have been a member of this advisory group for a couple of years, nothing to tough to reply to a few questions.
In addition I always let them know I am not impressed with their quality from scooters to clothes......quality has gone the wrong direction IMHO

Today when I got home, I had a package from this group, HD sponge & small wash mitt - Thanks  :2vrolijk_21:

Funny that you should mention Disney.  It has been clear to me that HD has been and continues to use Disney as their marketing model.  There's a lot of garbage in and around their parks as well, but they do their best to keep it hidden from public view.  Notice any similarities with HD's reliability issues?

:nervous:  Hey Dan:  I too just received an invitation to join the HD Advisory team.  Not sure that the MOCO is really interested in listening to what us "owners" have to say.  I think I'll give it a try and see what happens.  One thing that I will voice my opinion about is paying a fortune for a Rolls Royce and having to sit on a stadium seat.  The OEM seat on my 08 CVO Ultra 105th Anniversary is the worst I have sat on, and the Mother Company doesn't seem to have any plans right now of offering a seat that is comfortable and fits those of us that have been rear ended and suffered a broken tail bone and lumbar vertabrae. I can't ride my new scoot for more than 100 miles without getting off and stretching.:orange:

HD Advisory Panel
« Reply #21 on: April 23, 2008, 09:45:18 PM »

I got a letter today from HD. My first thought was..They've decided to respond to the questionaire I've filled out...I was......Bad. No such luck, they've asked me to participate in an "Online Advisory Panel." In a nutshell it says:

What is the HD Advisory Panel?
. The panel is an online advisory group consisting of HD owners like me.

. Provides a forum to share experiences with HD through online question and answer sessions. They're truly  interested in finding out what I like now, what I'd like to see for the future, and how they could improve.

. The panel will operate on an ongoing basis. THEY want to hear from me now, as well as years later

How Does It Work?
.As a panel member, you'd receive a montly email notification prompting me to to complete a question and answer session

What are the benefits of being a member of the panel?
.Your input would help us to better provide you with better HD products etc etc etc

.Not ever HD owner will be offered this opportunity, so your participation is especially valued.

How do I become a member of the HD Advisory Panel?

. As simple as entering this link. www........and a new browser opens

. There is a panel support team in case there's problems. etc etc

Ok, my question is this...Is this worth the time it takes? Has anyone else gotten a letter like this? Do they send this out to everyone? Is this just another useless survey that changes nothing? I'd love to see what you guys say.

Sad to say, the MoCo isn't about to smarten up anytime soon. Bubba_T and I rode around San Diego County today and visited the local H-D dealerships. In spite of huge layoffs and losses by H-D, all dealerships were still doing business as usual. No deals on new motorcycles, ridiculous prices on used ones. Parts and accessories at list price. If I woke up tomorrow morning as CEO of H-D Inc, the first thing I'd do is issue an edict that prices of new motorcycles were to be slashed by 10%. Next I'd institute a program where a custom could order his/her H-D with the motor, wheels, seat of their choice. Beyond that, I'd be coming down hard on any dealer with excess inventory unwilling to offer discounts on new and used motorcycles as well as P&A. And finally, the full wrath of the MoCo's Legal Dept would be brought to bear on any dealer with a less than normal amount of warranty claims. (seems like that'd be a good indicated that dealer was denying claims independantly of the Factory) And the list goes on. Now if I can figure all that out without having attended the Wharton School of Business, seems like a guy making several million bucks a year should be able to as well. I'm glad I don't want a new H-D. Their not gonna be around much longer at this rate.

IMHO...That's a sensible approach to the matter...H-D are you reading?
