« on: April 19, 2008, 08:22:41 PM »

To weeks a go I traded in my 06 CVO , I had enough of the noise motor and the weight of the bike I was ready for something new so I bought a 08 roadking I love everything about this bike the 96 cubic inch witch seems faster then my 103 I had also the 6 gallon tank and the 6 speed are all great. Any way I hope I'm still welcome on the site.

Of course your welcome!
Don't even think that.
Good luck with that new bike!

Bump that 96 to a 103 and drop the primary drive sprocket to a 30 tooth (instead of 32). This will give you copious amounts of power and torque and make 6th gear more usable. I did this on my 07 road glide. Love it!

Congrats on the new bike. ROAD KINGS ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITES!!

I can sympathize with this thread.

 I still miss Elvis.

Mark, can you please bring Elvis to Maggie Valley ?

Charlie,
Congrats on the the new ride...you're always welcome here, no matter what you're riding.  ;)  I was torn between going with a Road King or a Street Glide for my "commuter" bike.  I went the Street Glide route...just waiting for them to get the "goodies" in to install before I pick it up.

Not much. Changes the RPM's about 3% per tooth (I wanted a 29 but Andrews didn't have one for the 07 at the time, still may not, not sure) so I got about a 6% higher RPM which makes 6th gear tolerable at 60 and real useable at 65. I did the same thing to my 07 SECUSE2 as well.

Thanks for the info . Sounds like it's worth a try.
