and here is the fitting with the bulge in the back.  Again any help would be appreciated.  Let's Roll

I installed one on mine, but did not have the clamp on mine that you have shown, went on perfect, just need a little patience installing it because of the little screws and the tiny amount of room you have to work with. Good luck [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Well, mine wouldn't fit [smiley=furious3.gif].  No matter how easy going I would try and with such finess it, was a no go.  So I got the old trusty dremel tool, ground out the inside of the back part of the cover, enough so that the clamp can seat neatly inside and  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]cha-ching [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif], like a glove.  I thougth about taking it back and getting the other style harley makes, but that style didn't do it for me.  So guys thanks for the help, and If anybody else reads this then maybe it will help them out.  Let's Roll

Way to go Buddy! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I didn't think those other ones fit our bikes anyway. They told me if he couldn't get that one on, it would not get one at all until one came out.

You've inspired me.  I have a late run Cherry and have the same clamp and experienced the same problem you did.  The dremel is coming out tonight.  I don't suppose you have pics of the modified back half?

Has anybody seen the HD braided EFI fuel line?  I don't have the p/n handy, but the literature says it supposedly only fits Dyna models. HD parts guy and I sized it up against a stock Electra Glide line and they look identical on both ends - length is nearly identical too.  HD tech says he's never installed on a EFI bagger but said there's no reason it shouldn't work.  I mention it only because if it does work, I think it looks better than the cover I'm currently using.  Anybody tried this?  PJ

PJ, are you talking about the braided fuel line for the 'crossover' at front of the tank?  [smiley=confused5.gif]  spyder

If its the crossover line, here's the part #:

Stainless Steel Braided Fuel Crossover Line

A beautifully braided, stainless steel fuel line accented with highly polished chrome fittings for your front fuel tank crossover. Innovative fittings are designed to eliminate unsightly hose clamps.

63698-02

Fits '97-later Touring models.

Porthole - that's right...I'm looking at the tank to throttle body braided line.  PJ will take the plunge and give it a shot over the weekend.  It's only $30.  If both end connectors are identical and it's the same length, I can't imagine what might be different.  Flow rate in the line? nah! Just doesn't make much sense to me.  I remember when the HD hydraulic clutch first came out a few years ago. The catalog said for '00-up touring models only.  I took another chance and guess what - the part worked just fine on my '02 Fatboy. Subsequent catalogs have the hydraulic clutch listed as fitting most models.  I think we've all seen instances where HD says the part doesn't fit a particular model and, in fact, it does.  My insurance is paid up, so if I go up in flames, been nice knowin' ya'll - PJ

If it works without any hassle be sure and post about it.  I'd do that and lose that slightly oversized and clunky chrome cover that's so much of a pain to take on and off in a heartbeat.

Hey PJ ?? !!  What'd you find out about being able to install that braided fuel line on your Glide?

Inquiring minds want to know (read: spend a few bucks at the bike shop parts counter).
