Only about 500mi so far. picked it up middle of April. Seems like been raining since. This weekend a Nor'easter (no snow) just rain. Usually go to Americade inJune for first long ride . Usually go rain or shine. In 15 or so years I would say most of the trips started in the rain. this bike won't get a reprieve. But some sun would be nice.

I should get the gear set in next week, then take delivery of my yellow seeg, have 4 bikes then, was wondering how many of you are going to conserve the mileage on your CVO's.  The bagger I am replacing has over 80k on it, and I just can't see letting my seeg sit for parades.  Having said that, I would have a problem sleeping with it parked outside of my hotel at a rally.  What are your thoughts.
I would think the yellow seeg has a high theft potential since it has the least production.

Our CVO bikes are our only riders. As someone said, we ride them like we stole them! Going up to Mrytle Beach Bike Week on the 18th, unfortantly we will be trailering due to time off from work factor. So we feel the bikes will be just fine locked away in the trailer for the night. Will also lock the bikes and probably set alarms too just in case. We do sleep better knowing they are locked away. Took our bikes without trailer last year, his was a CVO, mine then was a 100th aniv bike. To tell the truth neither of us slept very well those nights. Turns out everything went OK for us.  [smiley=blush.gif] Sandy

Ditto on "ride it as if every ride is your last!
Don't know about all of the others, but for me this was a good chunk of change to lay out on a production bike. Don't consider it a investment. Consider it as a excessive expenditure on sheer enjoyment. I'm 60 years old and plan on riding the daylights out it.
I always over maintain but that's the cheapest insurance you can buy. Better off to let $30,000 sit in a conservative fund instead of your garage. Get that "torque machine" out on the highway........................................

I was with the 4th Bn 9th Inf  25th Inf Div at Tay Ninh in early 1968.  I reported in and got sent to my unit in the field and never saw base camp again.  Just seeing the name brings back memories.

4 baggers you say!How can you afford the insurance on all those bikes? [smiley=bigok.gif] Man my SE2 is my only ride. It cost me almost as much as my truck. [smiley=shocked2.gif] Too me Harley has already produced too many CVOs for them to be collectors items. You know maybe if they only produced 500 of each model.Just more marketing _ullshi_! to get more money from the consumers. [smiley=furious.gif] Every major ride or event I attend I see at least 5 of the bikes. The bike is nothing special just a way for Harley to advertise all the factory parts they sell. All the other big bike manufactures are doing the same thing for half the price. Hey dont get me wrong I love my SE2 its one of the best touring bikes Ive owned. When I was living and working at home it was RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLD IT ! and it was not unusal for me to ride 30,000 plus miles a year on my bikes. Now If I put 4000 miles in a year I am lucky.  [smiley=oops.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]

Luckily, I have a 2nd bike (04 RG) which is substantially better as a daily rider than my Big Pumpkin (less heat sitting in traffic, fairing design, etc).  And at the rate I was racking up miles on my SEEG (4000 in 3 months after purchase) it'd be dead by now if I was still riding it every day  [smiley=laugh.gif]  It's my weekend bike only now.  I guess that's lame... but I want to keep her perfect.  And eventually (20 years)... I'll have the nicest one  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Yeah, I'm a dork.....

Yea, but a loveable Dork!  [smiley=biggthumpup.gif] [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif] How's it going man? We are already hitting the 90's down here, I guess summer is right around the corner here. But that does make for some great riding on my main ride Red. Have a good one, tell the Misses I said 'Hi'.  [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

In my market, I have the only yellow SEEG available out of the Aspen market, there is one coming in June in Grand Junction, none has been availble in Vernal, ST. George, and only 2 in Colorado Springs.  I heard that a total of 9 were available from the entire production run for Denver.  The Rocky Mountain region may not have gotten as many as other markets, but I didn't hear about very many at the Laughlin River run either.  As I sell off my other rides, this one will get more and more miles, but even my 95 FLHT with 80k looks showroom fresh.  Guess I am one of those guys that takes the time to clean it up after each ride, and tends to each little hiccup as they occur.  Plan on being the same with this one for sure.
