Is your SE gonna be your main ride?
« on: May 08, 2005, 01:01:39 AM »

I should get the gear set in next week, then take delivery of my yellow seeg, have 4 bikes then, was wondering how many of you are going to conserve the mileage on your CVO's.  The bagger I am replacing has over 80k on it, and I just can't see letting my seeg sit for parades.  Having said that, I would have a problem sleeping with it parked outside of my hotel at a rally.  What are your thoughts.
I would think the yellow seeg has a high theft potential since it has the least production.

Striker, for me it's a ride it like you stole it kind of thing.  What's the good of having it if you won't go play?  So mine won't get any miles conserved to keep the clock low.  And if I want to go someplace it'll park outside the room with the ignition locked and the alarm set.  Hopefully I'll have been on it enough that day that sleeping that night won't be a problem.

If something bad happens, well; it's insured.  Get pizzed off for a few minutes and then go right on to the next step of planning what ride to play with next.

I don't think anyone knows for sure if in fact the color yellow is the least produced model. Last year each of the two colors had about 1400 of each color. We won't know the exact numbers till production stops for the 05 models.

Mine is my main ride. After I picked it up and found it rode much better then anything I had owned before is was an easy choice. Stay safe.

I plan to ride it, luv it, and ride it some more. The other 4 will probably sit. Don't forget to get the detachable locks for the tour pak and pass. backrest. [smiley=laugh.gif]

When someone says it better, quote them.  Screamin, like you I plan to ride my SEEG as often as I can, and love every last minute of it.  We have a Road King in the garage that we feel needs to move onto a new home where someone will love it and ride it too.  Three touring bikes in the garage, two riders. mmmmmm. And if I am picking, the SEEG is going to get picked all the time.  I did not buy mine to let it sit in the garage, it was bought to ride.   [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  And a great ride it is.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Because they personally like it better?  Because it looks great?  Because they've got great sunglasses?  Just because they want it!  Don't need any better reasons than any one of those.

The SEEG is my only scoot, too, so I sure as heck ain't gonna let it sit.  My goal each season is to ride at least as many if not more miles than the year before.  Everyone's different, but I think the guys that are leaving them parked don't know how much fun they're missing out on.  The SEEG is about as good as the Harley experience gets, IMHO.

As far as the concern about getting is stolen, cover it up, put double disc locks on it, lock the ignition, set the alarm and then let the insurance take care of anything that happens after that.

There was another thread on how much will these be worth with low mileage or something to that effect.  It didn't get a lot of response because most of the guys and gals on here ride these bikes.  I could care less what this bike's worth when I'm done with it.  I paid the price of admission so I could have the fun, not save it for someone else, and so far it's been worth every penny. love the replys, I am of the same nature.  One of my bikes is a '95 flht, that was set up for show and performance.  After 6 months of show and crap, I said the heck with it, and it has over 80k on it.  My Indian is one of only 12 made, got sick of keeping it covered up, and put 10k on it.  Hopefully I can sell these bikes to someone who will do the same.  I also am a believer that all the money I put in these things was for my satisfaction, and not remorse when I sell em for 20k less than I have in em.  Got the joy of everyone drooling over em.  I have always been like a proud papa with my bikes and my wife, 36 years married 40 years 2 up on a bike together.  This year we have 2 trips over 5k planned on the bike, so more time to get to know each other, lol. I did 16,000 miles on my Ultra 88" stocker last year and I'm expecting this one to get more miles on the clock in the same amount of time.

Roll-on the European HOG Rally in Saint Tropez.

Ride em till you can't ride no more!  My SEEG is the only bike I have, so ride it I will.  Put on as many miles as you can.  These bikes were made to be rode, not parked in the garage.
