Just had a bad mental image.  Robin Williams with a head gasket on his head going "I'm melllting."

If the gaskets are Icarian all you poor schmucks riding the 110s need to start a Sisyphus club.

Heeeeeeeeeey, watch who you're calling a Sisyphus!!!! :o :huepfenlol2:

Does Albert Camus work at the MOCO?  :bananarock:

Of course the philosophy of the absurd definitely fits in this case. As adapted here the basic premis would be man's futile search for meaning, unity and clarity in the face of an unintelligible world devoid of customer service.

I bet he's (Camus) still pushing a rock up a mountain somewhere in Wisconsin, only to see it roll down again. "The struggle itself...is enough to fill a man's heart."  You go boy!!

This thread has become mostly Greek to me.

Existentially, that is.

Just had an idea to sate the MoCo's morbid hunger to discount the obvious.  When we've got a few of these bikes together in one place we should stage them for photo-documentation.

Three groups.  Have leaked (or worse).  Currently leaking.  Never leaked.  Will just have to hope that one of the groups has no missing-man spots in its formation for bikes still out someplace waiting for a flatbed or service lift.

The Leaker Lineup.  A group pic with each bike labeled with date/type of leak & mileage.

Might hurt resale value just a tad I suppose.

I have three friends that had problems with their 110's this past weekend. All three had previously received the latest gasket fix. This was the first really nice spring weekend here and 2 of them were on their first long ride since last fall. Like someone else pointed out on another thread, this is most assuredly a sign of things to come as warm riding weather now spreads up. Got to say I could not be happier I got my deposit back and passed on that Casper.
Back to the original post, IMHO get your deposit back and wait for a few short months for the 09's to come out. I'll give good odds to anyone willing to bet the 110 will be back in 09.

I'm glad you were able to talk to someone and receive an answer to the question that had not been answered to date. You can tell they are not telling the truth, their lips are moving.

I too contacted Harley Davidson Customer Service regarding my 07 FLHRSE3 spewing oil from the rear head gasket area (of the last crated motor with 5899 miles on it) to the tune of 1/2 quart in 85 miles, unlike you, I was shuffled off to the voice mail of Bob Dwyer (Rusty), due to my sending the HD Survey praising my dealership and techs and ripping the Motor Company a new one, my file is open for supervisors only to handle. Bob Dwyer / Rusty, if you are trolling this site give me a call, since your to busy to retuirn calls during your business hours.

MJZ,
When did they have their gaskets replaced?  If this was their first ride since last fall, then they wouldn't have the new 7B gaskets.  They just started putting those on within the last month or two.  Would be interested to see which gaskets they had. It may be the 7A gaskets. :nixweiss:

They only have one way phones. I have asked the area service rep to call me regarding turned down warranty claims. STILL WAITING 6 Months. The MOCO could care less. Only way to satisfy the share holders since bike aren't selling is to deny warranty!!!!!!!!

Good point, I know one was done in late Feb and they held his up waiting on the new gasket, the other two were done in the fall.

There's a possibility that the one that had his replaced in February may have the 7B gaskets, but probably got the 7As.  The only way, according to the MoCo, to get the 7B's when they first started issuing them, was to call the MoCo and get a ticket number on the warranty claim.  You had to give that number to the dealer and then they could get the 7B's.  My dealer was going to put the 7A's in because he had them in stock.  So I called the MoCo, got a ticket number and gave that to the dealership and the MoCo sent the 7B's to them to install instead.

I can confirm the owner of the dealership on Route 66 (Williams I think) in Arizona who said he had heard of no problems with the 110 and that I shouldn't read the blog so I guess with 2 dealers saying it, that's everything OK  ;D

my new crate motor went 3800mi before dreaded leak appeared.  i kept on requesting that the supervisor call me (rusty). never happened. i left a messege for five days in a row. someone else would call and say i'm calling for mr dwyer.... :nixweiss:
all my documentation is in order, hope it's enough.

i'm sure all anyone wanted is a dependable non-leaking cvo bike we bought in good faith. confidence is a fuuny thing.

i'm trying to keep the faith!... :drink: :drink:
