Saw this last night on the HD website.  Brand new part.  Little chrome cover to cover the area over the muffler hanger bolts on the touring bikes.  Check the acc'y section of the HD side and key in part # 80716-08.

Ordered a set this morning.  What's even better is that with 2-1's on each bike one set will do both bikes .

Wonder if Gary will be able to keep himself off of this one ?

From the description I'm guessing it's a diameter issue on different mufflers.  Am hoping there can't be very much actual difference and that a little careful clearancing or compression will complete a nice install. 

The ugly muffler mounts were always a pet peeve of mine.  So I'll screw with to try and cover them up.

won't clearancing them take off the chrome and screw things up?

I'll be gentle.  There's also a good chromer close by  who does little pieces for cheap.  So if HD give it to me with most of the work done I'll finish it to taste.

If you have 4" round cans of any mfgr, they should work.  Anything smaller in diameter, or, like me, ovals, they will require milling.  Yours shouldn't be too bad Don....I'd have to almost flatten the curve to fit my ovals...just another way for the MoCo to get you to buy their pipes.     I know you'll get 'em right though.

Anytime I see "Twolanerider" and "New Chrome" starting a thread, I just HAVE to read it.   

("One set will do two bikes". . .  wouldn't surprise me if Harley didn't figure out how to make a 'right' and 'left' piece. That would be my luck.)

2LR new chrome threads should be posted with a mandatory warning sticker warning me not to open them.

Chromed out the RK & had a heckuva good time doing it.  So far have resisted on the 07 mostly....but

resistance is...... futile.
