I thought that was the case.  I bought a service manual with the bike and think I will take to tour pack off this weekend and see if I can move it back a little.  Thanks

that is pretty cool, I will have to keep that in mind. One more thing to add to the list. Now I have to go back and rearrange my priorities list.

My thought exactly!  Better to spend 20% of that on a simple bracket to permanently move the T-P back.  Once it's moved back, the vast majority would be unlikely to ever slide it forward to the stock position again.  Many folks on this site are using a bracket made by George Anderson:

Let me know how it works out for ya.  It only took me about an hour to do mine and I was taking my time and being extra careful

I think it would be ideal for me........move it back when Terrie's on the ride but I could move it forward (for better balance of the bike) when I'm riding by myself on the long hauls.

Can you guys post a review of your opnions and experience with it?
