After 5 weeks of waiting, fretting and being constantly disappointed by the shipper - dad's 2003 SERK arrived last night (late last night, props to the driver Rick he literally drove his butt off getting the bike to me, I watched it on the GPS tracker)!

I will clean it up and post pictures, it has a TON of stuff that I am going to need assistance with ID'ing since dad isn't around to ask. :(

I never realized how much dad had done to the bike, it is in amazing shape, not a single flaw - lit right up after sitting for a year + and 5 weeks in transit.

I need to change the fluids, check the tires and give it some love today! :orange:   This is more bike that I have ever owned or ridden in my 18+ years of riding, so I am taking this slowly. 

ALL suggestions welcome.

best of luck! enjoy the bike and the freedom of the open road, can i ask why 5weeks in transit where did u ship it from? greetings from switzerland

Lots of bad luck with the shipper - great drivers, not so great management/leadership.  The bike sat in Tulsa since the last week of March after leaving Tucson the 21st of March, tons of excuses and non-performance and dad paid MORE then the quoted price just to ensure it was delivered smoothly.  Bike came safe, just slow. 

I had to lie to my dad before he died that all was well with it since he was really worried about it...THAT pisses me off.  >:(

poor customer service seems to b a world wide problem, atleast u have it now, sorry to hear ur dad passed away.

Gotta shrink the rest - they are HUGE pics...

I have some research to do - Mom is coming out next week and informed me she is bringing "the folder" from the bike...dad was good about keeping records, hopefully what I need is in "the folder".  In the manual he had it serviced up to the 10k...and it had 11,373 on it, so I may do the dealer thing for 10k...  I am quite proficient as a mech, do all my own work on the truck, my KLR and everything, so I will want to do whatever I can, as soon as I can.

Had to dig into the manual to figure out the alarm - it is pretty loud...actually REALLY loud at 2345, in the confines of the garage.  I had to sit on the bike while the wife grabbed the manual.  Then I got it started and the driver called to thank me for the tip and the coffee I gave him (that is another hobby...  I roast coffee...don't get me started on that subject...).

So it's here and I have a list of other honey do's to hit today, but i am going to grab a ride today if to nothing more then heat up the oil for a oil change, and to get the dust off her!

I'm stoked! :pepper:

Got more - but figure you all get the idea...

Needs some TLC there are some smuges, the chrome needs some wiping down, but the bike is flawless.

Man I miss my dad!   :(
